Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11thAugust. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you goto bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you haveto though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
So I thought I'd wake up at 5 for a good worry, lol. Still DW's been emptied, a towel wash has been done & is on the line. I went shopping yesterday & bought some vacuum storage bags in Argos, I tried other places but they were the only shop to have any in stock, I also went to Poundland & spent £10, I bought 2 packets of shoe insoles, 2 garden kneelers, 2 packs of hair bobbles for DGD's, & a basket to collect garden veg in to save juggling amongst other things. I also went to the Card Factory & bought a wedding card with flamingo's on it for a friend who is having a bird themed wedding reception. We have been invited & may go to tonight, if hubby finishes work in time, it starts at 7 & he is working from 6:30 this morning 'til 7 or 8 tonight. He may be too tired so we'll see how he feels, I bought a dress to wear from the CS but if we don't go I shall wear it other places.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all who follow :)

Cloudy but warm here. Sun didn't really make much of an appearance yesterday, clearly it's done a runner this. Morning. Hope this cloud b*ggers off tonight I want to try and catch the perseid meteor shower :D

Off to a kids party today, H said he is going to work on the garden. Hmmm believe it when I see it ;)

Then just the usual round of washing etc.

Making pizza for dinner for kids. H suggested we might treat ourselves to a take away but knowing him he will change his mind ;)

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

Morning Hester and all to follow,

Woke up before 6, the one day I could lay in bed till 8,30 and I am wide awake, the others are still asleep, I have taken OH a cup of tea, but will leave dd till 8.30, she has worked 6 out of the last 7 days, and is working again today, not bad for a part time summer job, but she loves it, and the money will come in handy for when she is back at college.

I have put a towel wash on, will wait for OH to get up and sort through the pile of clothes he left on the floor:mad:, and will then put his work clothes on a hot wash.

Today will be more stripping of paint, we are nearly there, and I am hoping with OH helping we can get it done today.

Dinner will be cheesy nabs :D, dd is off out with her work mates for a leaving meal.

Meanmarie, so nice to have you back, what a great thing your kids did :T

    Have good days all xx

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning all

I had a brilliant evening last night :D nice company, lovely curry. Laughed so much last night! Late one, didn't get home til 1.30am so god knows why I'm awake now!

No plans as yet today. I will probably meet the girls for lunch if they want to meet. I need to walk into town (about 45mins) to fetch my car as I left it parked at work last night when I went out.

OS wise - WM on with towels, dinner will probably be HM veggie chilli from freezer, unless I go shopping and something catches my eye.

Have a fab day all, enjoy the sunshine

    Morning all:j:j

Warm and sunny here this morning.

Well I had my letter come yesterday about my JSA claim. And I can not claim anything as my wife's part time Job puts us just over what the law says is the basic that we need to live on.

Not a lot on today. We do need to get some food shopping done. And we also really need to have a tidy up. The place really is a mess.:rotfl:

Lunch today will be Sandwich's, I'm not sure yet about dinner tonight.

Well I hope that you all have a great day.

Good luck to team GB today.
It all ends tomorrow, And tehy have all done there country proud:T:T

    Enjoy your day everyone:j:j

    morning all

Oh Halight bum to jobcentre.. Can you not get contributions based JSA? Try for help with ct and hb. Let the ctc people know too. Good luck.

HH and sistercas I worry too and it's always worse when I have just woken up.

    PP have a good day.

    Flutterby how's the head?

    JackieO not long now...

Hi RR and essex-girl have a good day

    Molly hope doggies OK

Lovely and sunny here. Washing is in the machine, dishwasher on and OH in the shower. LOL I made OH a cuppa in bed as he makes me one in the week.

I met OH from work yesterday and we went to Weston super Mare for a couple of hours. Lovely stroll along the front, tide was way out but you can't have everything. We saw a vintage fairground in the gardens on the front with their caravans and old lorries, rides and they even had old fashioned dodgems. Very OS as I took a bottle of water and we came home for a late tea.

Today we are going to Wells as there is a model railway exhibition boo! and a market hurray!

That's my day sorted......Tea? Could buy a curry from the lady in the market or make a mixed bean or chickpea and spinach one. We'll see.

Anyway enjoy the sunshine if you have it. Hugs and kind words to all who need them.
