Meant to start this up a while ago, was not sure where but feel at home on here so here it goes.

I know it is not just me - single and with multiple pets for company.

At work most of the day, home late-ish, by the time I deal with litter boxes/feeding/walking/letting out/collecting - 9pm, bath and bed and another day exactly the same.

Not a complaint but....I seem to be happy this way. Just sometimes wonder if I am really happy or managed to convince myself that I am.

Ermmm?

Most Fridays my work lot go out for drinks - I have been working with them since March but never went. Have to go back home to take the dog out - my excuse.

I do not look for people's company, been living like I do now for years and I think it suits me down to the ground. Have absolutely no patience for people in real life and especially for people who think they should "fix" me in general (as I must have a problem) or "fix" me with someone etc etc...

Got a libarary just round the corner, order masses of books and read with cats/dog by my side.

Got Virgin on telly but my telly gets turned on once per week for 2 hours - Law and Order SVU.. and that is it.

I do not watch the news, do not read newspapers - I live in my own little world and looks like I am staying there for the next 40 odd years...

I have a mobile on contract with 500 minutes and unlimited sms - only ever call my daughter (or my bos when I am late for work AGAIN). When I get back home - my phone goes on silent, so does my intercom.

Oh dear - reading this - I AM a weirdo...

If you're happy you're happy, if you think you might not be happy then start doing things differently and see how it makes you feel. If you have no real inclination to make any changes then I strongly suspect you might actually be happy.

(I'm also single with multiple pets, long may that continue!)

Your not ! Everyone is different.

I used to be a 'social butterfly' was out loads meeting new people and had lots of 'friends' over the last few years I have become quieter and only have about 3 people who I would consider a friend now- I do see them probably once a fortnight but no where near as often as I used to.

Okay so I have bf but he works nightshift and when he goes to work I tend to do nothing except go online and chat to people in the page I help run on FB (dogs, cats furry friends local area group) most of what I do outside work focuses on one of two things - animals or the football team I support.

    That's what I like though.

I ramble on but basically what I am saying is - if you are happy then don't worry about what other people think or how other people think you should be it's none of their business.

Oh.. I do not worry about what other people say/think - never did....

Some seems to "pity" me for my "lonely life" - same ones b1tch all day about their friends/other halves etc etc so...to me they are the sad ones h9olding on for dear life to relationships not worth having in the first place and to the "status" that they think being in relationship gives them and look at me like I am the odd one out.. ermmmmm

Oh dear - reading this - I AM a weirdo...

Start a club. Uptake may be higher than you think.

I've only the 2 cats for now. And an aquarium but that hardly counts. Hopefully this will increase once building work is finished at back of house.

Some members of my family met through dating agencies and have suggested on occasions that I might want to try one. I thought about it, looked at some of my colleagues at work and decided against it. From the pictures they paint of their relationships I think I'm happier to remain single. If I do meet someone fine, but I've no plans to go looking for her.

I do enjoy other people's company but probably happier on my own most of the time.

I was single with multiple pets for 20+ years. Now added a OH..... just one more body to love, care for and clean up after!

I've never much cared for 'being normal', its my life and I'll live it my way, thank you very much :)
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D

    Good for you,
Carry on doing your own thing if you are happy with it.
I am not single bit we have a multiple household of dogs (we foster for a rescue) some friends are fine with it and others (judgemental ,think their lives are perfect)do not understand at all.
Comments as in 'Eughhh 8 dogs your house must stink !they must cost a fortune!Have you seen Sharons coming back to Eastenders and Home and Aways on a summer break.
Well hey ...NO,NO and GOD i really dont watch tv.
Each to their own,we should all live our lives how we want ,if people actually came to our home(which they dont because i chose not to invite rude, opinionated people) they would be very suprised..lol.
Keep doing what you want ,ignore the sheep( who all bleet and follow the pack).

    10 rules for pet owners

    1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you will be very painful.

    2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

    3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

    4. Don't be angry with me for too long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have work, your friends, your entertainment. I HAVE ONLY YOU!

    5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your voice when it's speaking to me.

    6. Be aware that however you treat me, I'll NEVER forget it.

    7. Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth that could crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite you.

    8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I've been out in the sun too long or my heart may be getting old and weak.

    9. Take care of me when I get old. You, too, will grow old.

    10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, "I can't bear to watch," or "Let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember, I love you.

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:
    (1) They live here. You don’t.
    (2) If you don’t want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That’s why they call it ‘fur’-niture.
    (3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people..
    (4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don’t speak clearly.
Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because:
    (1) they eat less,
    (2) don’t ask for money all the time,
    (3) are easier to train,
    (4) normally come when called,
    (5) never ask to drive the car,
    (6) don’t smoke or drink,
    (7) don’t want to wear your clothes,
    (8) don’t have to buy the latest fashions,
    (9) don’t need a gazillion dollars for college, and
    (10) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

    :D:cool::D;)
