Can you pause a sky account?

I'm having a nightmare with them at the moment. My nan is in hospital and we don't know for long so i asked Sky if i could pause the subscription. Apparently i can either drop it to £20 per month (she pays over £40) or i can cancel it giving 31 days notice. This is crazy as you pay in advance anyhow. They also want her to sign a letter to cancel, but she can't even hold a pen. No idea what to do now

Have you explained the situation in a calm a polite way to Sky?
When I was moving I was inbetween houses, and I wanted to cancel I got it for £8 a month for 6 months (down from £40), In the end we were without it for for 5 weeks so thought it was well worth it.0 -

No idea what to do nowTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Sign the darn letter yourself in her name or just do a squiggle.
She's hardly going to complain, is she? Sky aren't going to quibble because you've told them she's ill.0
