More spends today, sigh
I don't think I'm going to be be able to keep to my budget BUT this is the first month and normally I'm sure I go horrifically over my budget every month (I don't know how much as I wasn't that strict).
On the bright side at least I'm not as likely to go over by as much as I would have, had I not been doing the GC Challenge!Still frustrating though as I really wanted to keep to my target....hey ho.
Sainsbugs £1.71 1 tomato and mangetout (DD likes these in her lunch so will use some for that).
L!dl £2.75 milk, cucumber, spaghetti and lady items (going to give them a try as they were only 73p...not holding out too much hope but it would be fab if they were half decent as it would save some cash).
Feeling a bit deflated and sad that I only have £12.86 left till the 30th September!!_pale_ :wall:

ps i don't drive either and as you said it stops you over spending
Yes I meant to say "expanded" not "swollen" but I my brain was having a vocabulary-challenged day :rotfl:.
So you take some milk out of the bottle before freezing. I always thought you have to have the bottles/cartons original seal...I learn something knew every day!..............................................................................

I would like to share this here:
These are 50p in Asda at the moment and they are incredibly tasty. Normally I HATE burgers, but I have tried them for tea and oh my, they are GOOD!!!:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Jumblejack - those burgers look lush, but they are £1 online, wonder if that is just an instore thing.
Mossy - yes they are herring or something, they look yuk, will see if i can find something to do with them, they are good 'till October something.
SheWho - they are on the side with the recycle, i don't really bake, but i could, i have all the stuff in to and am trying to use things up, thanks for that, will see if they can squeeze into freezer - i know Jumblejack posted about the banana icecream, but they are too brown for that. p.s. i don't do the kilo thing either.0 -

I've never taken milk out from a carton before freezing and never had a problem, maybe I've been luckyif you stack bottles in too tight, they expand and fit together so tightly you have a devil of a job to get one of them out; ask me how I know this :rotfl:
... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I have £60 to last me the rest of the GC month. I am really please, as my month ends of 20th September
I am pretty sure i will do it! Doing my online shop tomorrow, and dont want to spend any more than £50, so that i can treat myself to a bottle of wine at the weekend, with some choc and sweets for the kids, while watching Dr Who.
Not bad for my 2nd month0 -
Coxy- Happy belated birthday- nightmare ref your bank account tho

Hi all just back from mr t will update sig later, not many whoopsies tonight just a bit of fruit. Can i freeze yogurt? always wanted to know that thanks. will have to go to asda in morn as mr t had hardly ANY of their own brand tins of anything...did notice that they have the 4p mushy peas in again...sold out. Getting very concerned at the alarming rate the own brand stuff is selling. Was talking to my niece who works in mr t she was telling me by 11 am the majority of soap, razors, toothpaste is sold out! By lunchtime no tinned potatos, sweetcorn,or creamed rice is left and they not allowed to put more out...want us to buy the dearer stuff. Also a lot of the own brand will be disappearing by December and it wont be coming back.oooohhhh its time to get on ebay and suss out next years seeds looks like i shall be growing A LOT MORE stuff so will maybe invest in a small greenhouse, i dont have a lot of room but will squeeze it in somewhere.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinater
