September 2012 Grocery Challenge

Holy moley this thread is long!
Well I fell off the bandwagon last month, but am back again. Can I be added on for €260 again please? That'll cover all food/booze and household stuff for myself and hubs (plus six on Fridays), eating organically.
The 260 won't cover my cow share, which I'll be picking up from the farm down the road at the end of the month, as I've been saving for that separately. It's going to be expensive, but will last us months. I'll "charge" myself per portion taken out of the freezer then going forward, to keep me on track.
Hope everyone is well in this back to school season. Have missed being around over the last couple of weeks0 -
Made my first grocery spend of September! Just £1.76 from Mr M (not my usual, but happened to be passing and needed petrol anyway). Just got some chicken for sarnies, some bananas and pitta breads.
They had Persil washing up liquid by the door for 50p, so I snapped up a bottle, but only counting food towards my £50.Because it's fun to have money!

Hi, don't mind you asking at all
It might not be the best deal around but Sainsbugs are doing Persil Small & Mighty 54 washes for £6. I was just really pleased with myself for finding it as the Lid! leaflet had come through the door with an offer on the same brand as £3.99 for a 28 wash bottle. I was going to get that one but had a quick look at the other supermarkets and saw this one for only £2 more so seemed like a better deal to me.
Spent £3 today on a dozen free range eggs from the 'egg lady' down the road as well as a 2 and a half kilo bag of potatoes.
Had a very quick look round Heron Foods today as well - does anyone use them regularly? They had a few things that I might go back for on shopping day. x0 -
Ok i found out what the links are - its this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2640163
Thanks for that Save Dosh - was getting worried I'd 'infected' the thread
Small spend of £5.45 today. Tried a new recipe tonight. Watched a bit of breakfast tv today and they had a mexican mince recipe. My DD and DS2 won't abide kidney beans but this used sweetcorn instead. Topped with tortilla chips and grated cheese. Clean plates all round

Back after a couple of NSDs knowing that I'll have to pop into the supermarket tomorrow to pick up a loaf of bread, cooked meat (though may get a gammon joint to slice instead), some marg and a box of cereal. I'm determined to do this!
Tea tomorrow night is Black bean chicken with noodles (12p ones). I'm getting a bit better at taking sandwiches although I'm finding I need something a bit more substantial. Might try making some chicken soup.
Have a lovely evening, everyone.
