How was the Paralympics? We are going to watch the swimming on Wednesday night, I'm soooo excited!! :j
You will have the best time. We had Olympics tickets for hockey and athletics and I thought 80,000 in the athletics stadium was the loudest thing but I was wrong. Cheering Ellie Simmons home last night was so loud, and so much fun.

...Unfortunately my management meeting resulted in me being ridiculed this morning because I was completely hoarse today (and my hands hurt from clapping everything) but so good and what a joyful occasion.

I bought three drinks for £7.30 but these are entertainment budget. We have general park entry tickets tomorrow - only £10 each - we are going to try and get into the wheelchair rugby but actually, sitting on a rug in front of the giant screens is so infectiously enjoyable that if we dn't get in it will be fine.

Have a great time. You can go early and spend the afternoon (day) enjoying the park and soaking up the fantastic atmosphere.

Suffolk Lass it sounds like you had a fantastic time!

    Jumblejack, your jams look yummy!

I had a NSD yesterday, and spent the day doing my bank account, sorting bills, and washing. I had a renewal for an insurance at £110, I rang up and asked if it was their best offer, and they reduced it to £88 :T I do this with every renewal we get these days.
Today, I did the weekly shopping. I'll update when I figure out what's GC and what's not. Went to MrA and saw packs of 12 long colouring pencils for 15p so I nabbed a few for shoeboxes!
I had been charged full price for some YS strawberries last week, so I told CS, who refunded the difference and gave me a £2 gift card without me asking for it :T
    2025 Fashion on the ration
    150g sock yarn = 3 coupons

    2 cardigans = 10 coupons
    Sandals = 5 coupons ... total 38/66

Coxy11 - if you look at your post, at the very top of this page, scooter is a link and my post below, confused is a link, any idea why this is happening, also debts in my signature is a link, but not in my other post below it. is this a new mse advertising thing - thought you might be in a better position to know. If it is, im not happy with my posts advertising companies under my signature. I thought i had a virus on my computer. p.s., it will be interesting to see if the links have gone tomorrow.

pps - all the best with the running
  • Had another spend yesterday which means my total for the month so far is quite high but I now have enough toothpaste/mouthwash to last for a few months plus a load of whoopsie fish gone into the freezer.
Thank-you to everyone who posts comps
  • Logging a bit more spending - £38 tesco order and £15.44 at sainsburys (most of this was wine! 3 bottles for £12, but 1 bottle was a gift for a babysitter). Also got a delivery of meat from Weston gourmet- when they delivered before one of the packs of burgers was split open, so they sent another plus 4 gammon steaks for free! Gammon in slow cooker tonight then!

The tesco saver thing is working well for me. I paid £30 for 3 months via quidco, and have used 1 delivery per week. I was going shopping on Sunday so I now get it delivered on Sunday which works much better than the cheap deliveries mid week. The only thing that irritates me is that you have to spend £40 - I usually manage it though! It's definately cut down trips to supermarkets which in itself is money saving.

Also trying to not do dinners in oven after getting huge electric bill. Using slow cooker much more and planning on leaving oven meals for when I can fill the oven with bread etc.
    Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 600
  • I am hanging on to go shopping tomorrow as I haven't much to buy, today instead of shopping as the sun is shining I am taking a flask and my book to the local park to sit and enjoy the autumn sunshine as it will soon be winter so a bit of sun will do me more good than spending money in the supermarket. Its great where I live if I turn left from my house I am a few minutes walk from the shops ,but turn right and I am five minutes away from a nice park with some comfy benches under the trees.Cheap as chips and better for my purse.:)
I only have a few bits to get anyway and nothing that is urgent.I had a couple of chilli sausages last night with a jacket spud and salad for dinner and it was lovely.Tonight I think I will have fishcakes and mash and peas.Feeding from the stuff in my freezer is helping my pocket as well as saving me trundling around the shops spending too much Good luck to all who are trying like me to recoup money spent during the school summer holidays.I am back to my squirrel like ways again :):):)

  • lol, they were there when i put my computer on about half an hour ago. I just don't like my posts being linked to casinos or online gambling. I thought possibly i might have pressed something which showed up affiliate links (which i know mse uses) and maybe i had to unpress it, anyway have a lovely day
  • Just spent £50.36 in JS when had only popped in for Milk and Sausages, but on getting in there I realised I had a double nectar points voucher, then found breakfast biscuits which I have everyday, easy to take to to work and have after swim/gym at half price (won't go cheaper than that I don't think) so I brought 30... £37.20 but I won't have to buy any for months now and they are good until 2013... Pleased with that, I am definitely getting into this grocery challenge...

Hope everyone else has a good day too x
