This will also help me find out exactly what I spend on the animals. Although the rats eat a lot of people food too, a box of 6 eggs means 2 for them 4 for the kids usually. I have 7 fancy rats and 5 domestic harvest mice. The harvest mice are tiny so their food lasts ages.
Yesterday I 'wombled' a lot of elder berries to freeze for animal treats in the wintercost = £0

Well ... not been on here for a while. Just recovered from a gout attack - my second in a month.
Have to make lots of changes to my diet, which makes meal planning more important than ever. It also seems that alcohol is a trigger for me.
On the upside, it means that meal planning must take on two new dimensions; one, it must gradually alkalize the body, and two, it must gradually reduce calorie count until a stable uric acid level (lower than a certain level) is attained. After that, about a three to four month process, more flexibility is permitted. It will make the list-making absolutely essential. More importantly, it will mean purchasing fresh fruit and vegetables three times a week to take advantage of their nutrient value (especially those that have travelled long distances).
I thought the challenge of this site tough enough, without the additional behavioural straight-jacket of abstemiousness thrown in. I have a hot cup of tea in my hand, England beating S Africa in the cricket one day internationals and an episode of Lewis I haven't seen before recorded. So it isn't all bad news.
Hope everyone else is is bounding about as a roe deer in the Spring, he adds, mind wandering down memory lane,____________________________________________

No spends yet for me, shopping day is Thursday:rotfl: I don't think I could afford that postage.
Have you tried the one less per day method? Write down over the next few days how many you are having, then reduce it by 1 each day. It slowly reduces the cravings making the final stop easier to deal with.
Wish I could say no spends on smoking. I'm going to try this thank you
Its currently costing £8 a day :eek::eek::o

Well, I'm really happy to report yesterday was an NSD. Today should, hopefully, also be an NSD as we don't really need anything that can't wait until tomorrow, when I go shopping. I'll try and do the full week this time and try not going in for anything else. I think I'll fail on that part as I always want fresh things like veg for the weekend and they don't really keep when bought on a Monday.
Chilli con carne for tea tonight, and as last night I had to make impromptu rice pudding (from packets in the cupboard long forgotten) I'll have a go at making a carrot cake today to satisfy the need for something sweet by DH. Ideally would prefer to have the oven fully utilised to save fuel so need to think of something else, or make something which fills the oven anyway.
Got to cut back everywhere.

Hmmmmm
The first one got a bit long - I used to use it and it was very motivational - especially with Sue-UU's posts. Here's the new one - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3969171Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

First spend of the month yesterday was £2.60 in Mr S on a bottle of water for the gym + 2 limes, spring onions and ibuprofen.
Going to try and rustle up something from the fridge and cupboards for lunch today - going to see wheelchair basketball at the Paraolympics so will have to see what options are at the arena for dinner. I won't have much time and need to set off at 4ish so it will be a fast food option I guess...
Looking forward to it - also seeing the Athletics next Saturday!
Other than that, think I will just chill today.Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Morning
Breakfast is cereal, Lunch is YS hot and spicy chicken legs with YS coleslaw and YS potato salad. Dinner will be YS chorizio and YS peppers made in to a stew.
I will be going out later for milk so I will go at YS time to see what I can get. The only thing I really need is a decent strong cheese. I can't hold off getting it much longer and may need to pay full price for it.

This and a handheld gadget called a tangle. It is a piece of plastic that moves in all weird directions. It kept my hands busy. I am happy to post this on to any one that would like it.
Good luck and report in how many each day. If one day you don't drop by one then just make sure you do the next day. :T£36/£240
