Fed up with orange - where to go?

Have been with freeserve/wanadoo/orange for about 5 years now, mostly good, but in the last month the service has dropped substantially, with intermittent connection most evenings. Tech support has no clue why, so I want to leave. I'm on an LLU exchange, so my questions are
1. Do Orange do LLU macs?
2. Can anyone recommend an ISP that accepts LLU macs?
If I have to I'll go without broadband for a couple of weeks, but ideally I don't want to because I do a lot of college work online and also mod a couple of busy forums.
Quality and assurance of a consistent service is more important than price (although cheap is always a bonus)

I am in exactly the same boat as you!
My broadband has been off since Thursday, after 5 calls to Orange on Friday morning they are still looking into it!
I have been told that I wont be held to the remainder of my contract adn they will be refunding since the begining of Jan, but thats not really the point is it- all I want is (relatively) fast broadband and reliable service.
I looked at the sky package, however, they wouldnt/couldnt say when it would be connected after leaving Orange, aws I use broadband for work when at home.
I should find out today what Orange are doing then its hello sky!0 -
We've had exactly the same trouble with orange. They have been looking into getting us re connected after moving house for over a month now. Getting any sense from the tech support(what a joke!!) is impossible. We have now cancelled our contract with them but dont know who to go with. Orange still haven't disconnected the line so can't register with anyone else as yet. Aaaaargh!!!!!!!!0

Hi Sockospice,
Most ISPs will take an LLU MAC. Here are the ones that I know for certain do:
Enta (they resell their product to other ISPs) - https://www.enta.net
Global - https://www.globalnet.co.uk
IDnet - https://www.idnet.net
Madasafish - https://www.madasafish.com
Namesco - https://www.names.co.uk
Plusnet (IPStream) - https://www.plus.net
UKfsn - https://www.ukfsn.org (enta reseller)
Vivaciti - https://www.vivaciti.com (enta reseller)
Waitrose - https://www.waitrose.com
Zen - https://www.zen.co.uk
You may get told that migrating away from an LLU service is really difficult and that other ISPs don't accept LLU MACs....ignore this, it isn't true.
Good luck!
Kind regards,

Thanks Samara.
I've almost given up believing anything Orange customer service tell me now (and for years I've been a big fan of their service), so I shall look into where to move to.0
