Purchasing Extended car warranties??(i.e.mazda)

Dear All,
Im contemplating buying a Mazda RX8,
which has about 2 months left on its 3 year warranty.

Is it possible / worth buying an extended one through Mazda?

or

Buy one through an independent company??

any advice would be great, mazda / non mazda,

The Mazda own brand warranty will also offer breakdown & rescue cover included, where as some others might not.It's also a comprehensive policy, but not cheap.

Depending on if you've already got this breakdown option free with, say, the car insurance, it might make it good value.

https://www.warrantydirect.co.uk are about the most popular & pretty much respected independent warranty company.But the Mazda might just be best bet, long term on this particular car, with the anticipated problems, which plenty of people expected (& have yet to happen) with this cars engine design.

Also, are the Mazda dealers letting you know just how rare these cars AREN'T just now? There are plenty coming through the system currently, so make sure you get the one in the spec you want!!

Well worth checking https://www.mazda.co.uk their dealer search lets you see all UK stock & you might just be surprised at how much variation, dealer to dealer, has in prices!!

While I'm at it, the worst things about Rx8...

The lump that digs into the side of your left leg, in the transmission tunnel area (designed primarily left hand drive)

Poor wearing & not too nice to sit in leather seats.

Sunroof - if fitted - is set too far back.

You'll have a hard job finding one in the BEST coclour - Lightning Yellow - do a Google image search for it & you'll see how good it looks! we'wern't even supposed to have any this colour originally!!

esp vans boy!

will attempt to speak to mazda tomorrow.
the 1st independent warranty people we spoke to were offering monthly payment warranty for arround £33.

however not sure this will actually stand up if anything actually goes wrong!!!
(not tempting fate or anything!)
