Upgrading with T-Mobile

I upgraded my contract on the 17th July to the Full Monty 33 tariff, ordering the new Samsung Galaxy S3. I was told it could take up to a week to deliver the phone which was fine by me. However the phone got lost by Royal Mail en route and I've had to go back and forth with T-Mobile ever since, trying to find out what was happening. Yesterday they tried to charge me for the new tariff and phone which I put a stop to. Today I called them and was told my account had been reset and I could re-order the upgrade. I told them I would think about it and get back to them as I feel after 3 weeks of having to wait I don't want to just sign up again.
If I do just order the same upgrade I'll be paying £33 a month for 2 years, so I was wondering if anyone had similar experiences where they've used a difficult situation to negotiate a better contract?
Many thanks
