Is this a series? It didnt mention something that some MSErs suspect, that supermarkets may either deliberately misprice something or merely not correct it for a long time (after all, Tescos seem to have a nationwide pricing system, how hard could it be?). Morrisons have been suspected of putting non offer size products on the shelf with a big banner saying xx off product (100g size only) so that people pick it up without checking the size, and when they realise they have paid too much CS just point out the size difference.
So theres possible sharp practice going on, may not be official policy but down to individual management?
I dont have a Morrisons near me by the way, just repeating what has been complained of elsewhere.
Sainsburys seem to rely on their reputation for better quality to get people to not mind if they pay more for most things. It would be interesting to see if the reputation was justified. With M &S , it certainly seems that their standards are higher if you read the thread about whether own brands are identical.

the tesco that was on the programme was my local tesco and i have met the manager (very nice man).tesco beckton london.

I used to shop there too (in the good old R&R days)

There is a very miserable woman on the CS desk, she will shout at you if you make her leave the desk more than once to check more than one price (which I did, often) :D

There is also an older asian guy on the CS desk that will not honour the overcharge policy (r&r OR dtd) on an out of date offer. Very rude and obstinate man!

Basically in his eyes, they could hang a huge sign up over the door that said ALL ITEMS 50p! as long as it said Offer valid until 1/1/07 underneath it they could charge what they like!

Glad I dont have to go there anymore!
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

i used to shop there - the smell is awful!!!

Think yourself lucky you dont have to use Chatham Tesco, its like a huge urinal (with no freshener block in it) outside, and you need a medal if you can make it down the car park steps without holding your breath!

  • Does anyone really believe that the manager does the rumble (facing up)?

If I was his boss I wouldn't be too pleased that he's getting paid loads to rumble when you could get a student on minimum wage to do it.

A lot of retailers want everybody in the store to do certain initiatives. Whether he does it in practise or not is a different matter!!

My favourite part was the bloke who shops on price buying loads of value bacon because it was such a good price. He obviously realises that you have to buy loads of it because it shrivels to nothing when cooked!!
