Help with shopping

I wondered how you all shop do you do it monthly or weekly?

I am doing well at cutting back on everything and i am writing everything down that i spend but shopping for food is letting me down.I do not mean what i buy because i can cook ok so i am quite good at making things from nothing.

I just always seem to run out of everything before the end of the month any ideas how i can plan meals or how oftern to shop because i know the £10 i take out of the cash mashines because i have run out of bread ,milk, suger etc is where i am slipping up at over spending and that £10 seems to be every other day:rolleyes:

Since joining DFW I shop once a week. I find it easier to budget and meal plan.

hey carlos, I do my shopping weekly, it's hard enough to plan what I'm going to fancy eating in seven days time never mind four weeks, plus my shifts at work are somewhat erratic and my meals need to be planned around this.
It also means things like milks etc that you'd run out of are bought weekly (four pints about deos me the week) so there are no random spends during the month.

I shop once a week and meal plan before i go. Then I only buy what's on my list, doing that means I probably only spend about £15 a month on fresh veg, bread and milk.

Once a week with bread & milk top up s- but i do try to menu plan, so sometimes go a little longer. I can't do monthly - not organised and like fresh stuff as well!

I also find that doing it weekly helps to spread the bigger items that last longer over the month rather than having one large outlay. I manage to keep my spending fairly constant, £10-15 a week, and that includes cleaning products.

I buy almost all fresh products on reduced to clear. I then plan my meals according to what I have. I find it helps me save money. For example all bread is 9p a loaf instead of nearer £1 for some loaves. I spend £90 a month for myself, daughter and two picky cats. This includes cleaning products.
