    I've been Money Tipped!
I have just finished my banana omlette. Its certainly sweet enough from the banana. I didn't 'love' it but it was certainly ok, and i can see me trying to develop a habit for it. I have recently been told i must increase my potasium intake, and while i like bananas i do not eat them regularly, so this looks like a good way to do that.

Anyone doubting the sweetness don't, it is sweet from the bananas, and the cinnamon is necessary imo.

Thank you Chameleon for this idea.

Hope OP is doing well. I just want to dd, i did this again this morning, this time sliciong the bananas, and spinkling with a little powdered coconut as well as connamon, It was really good, so my recommendation for those trying this for the first time is slice not mash, and if you have any coconut powder, just a pinch on the top with cinnamon lifts it.

Just wanted to add that I get a lot of helpful recipes and information from fitness/healthy eating blogs:

    http://www.pbfingers.com/2012/03/18/banana-pecan-coconut-baked-oatmeal/

There are heaps more if you're interested in that kind of thing, but it's given me lots of fresh ideas that I perhaps wouldn't have come across normally. I don't believe in "diets" either, I just try and eat healthily and exercise regularly (currently doing C25K).

For breakfast at the moment I'm loving poached egg on toast, yum! Another staple for me is banana porridge with chia seeds and peanut butter. If you mash the banana and add to the oats towards the end of the cooking it adds sweetness and one of your fruit/veg of the day! Then you can top with whatever you like, but PB or almond butter for healthy fats are good.

You can also try the mashing banana technique with pancakes- 1cup flour, 1 egg, 1 cup milk, 1 mashed banana- makes quite a lot so you can keep in the fridge and use when needed. Then top with berries, fruit, yoghurt etc.

    HTH :)
  • Hiya.

What has really worked for me was joining MyFitnessPal. I've been using that site to log my food and exercise for almost 2 months and have lost 10lbs. It's also great for emotional support because SO many other people use it. It has a wonderful community vibe to it.

Now, what I eat has not really changed much. All I've really done is cut down the portion sizes to avoid overeating. I still eat chocolate and all the other yummy things, just not as often. Hell, I've had some Ben & Jerry's ice cream tonight because I was able to fit it into my daily calories. :)
