My husband's Yaris after an argument with a lorry. My daughter was in the rear right-hand seat.

I'd hate to see what would happen to a lorry that crashes into a Ford KA then!

There are some people carriers which also have a boot when the seats are up, so I guess these ones should just be like a regular hatchback in safety. This 8 seater Hyundai for example we had on a location for a show I was working on

Although that seems more like a van lol.

I think the back seats of any 7 seater are quite safe, but if a lorry hits you well I think anyone in any car would be injured to be honest! All driving carries risks, nothing's ever risk free.

Our 7-seater has a proper boot when all the seats are in, and the seats are proper ones, too, not the flimsy fold-down type.

Could you all please say what vehicles you have. And also state if the tailgate is metal or plastic.

    It's a Citroen C8 - don't bother. I'd go for a Sharan or Alhambra if I was buying now.

Mil has a Zafira. I wouldn't let DS sit in the rear seats on the way to Scotland. I don't think it's worth the increased risk.
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

We have C8 too. We were looking for a 7 seater we ruled out the Zafira sized car exactly because of this.

The back row of a C8 should be as safe if not safer than the rear seats of a Focus size car.

Ive had no reliability problems so far although weve only had it for about 6 weeks... After reading forums like this i do have a sense of foreboding and a need to keep my fingers crossed!

This is the reason many, who can afford them, buy and run heavy 4x4s as MPVs, it takes a very serious shunt to collapse the rear of a Landcruiser.

No doubt some will say you are worse off having no crumple zones as such, in practice carelessly mislaid concrete blocks are not the usual point or cause of impact.
