My view is that prices rise in autumn ("market conditions"), then drop a little in spring ("to the benefit of our beloved customers"), but not as much as they went up. The only way is up.

Cheapest for me is Scottish Power Fixed November 2013, then Npower Online November 2013 (not fixed though) and then OVO Energy which is fixed for 12 months, then EDF Blue fixed until April 2014.
    .

The EDF 'fixed price 2014' refered to, is a cheaper rate than the EDF Blue. Different product.

Thanks for the replies. The exit fee is split into two phases - £35 for each service, so £70 for gas and electric if exited before 31/3/12 and £15 for each service if exited after 31/3/12 but before 31/3/13. EDF say that you 'may' be charged these fees if you transfer to another supplier or another EDF service. The implication is that there is a possibility that the charges would not be levied.

I am not going to move anyway - after reading your posts, I think I am best advised to stay put - thank you for reassuring me.

I see what you mean now, thanks.

For me, blue is cheaper than the fixed price one. The fixed price for southern is 22.33 daily charge and 12.61 per kwh. The blue price promise is 14.7 daily charge and 11.8 per kwh.

Guess it depends on your area whether cheaper or not.
