Whats the best smokeless fuel

I'm going to start stocking up for my first winter with my Stovax Stockton 4 multifuel , I need to get some smokeless coal. Any advice on what's the best, as seems to be homefire ovals or ecoal thats availble??

I have used both but as I had fire fitted early summer it was not the best time to judge what provided the best heat as it was not really winter.

Also any tips on what is best online supplier, I'm London TW13 direction.

Try to find an independent coal merchant locally and ask if he will let you have some sample bags of whatever different fuels he stocks. Individual stoves seem quite fickle as to what burns best on them and you really need to experiment to find what suits your installation best.

FWIW, I have been using Taybrite with good results but have switched back to Maxibrite (also good in the past and now at a better price with my new coal merchant) for this coming year.

One thought would be to act fast. Traditional coal merchants often have summer prices through August - you might sneak in a quick order at a lower rate if you act soon.
