I know but at least I thought in court I could explain the circumstances around how the situation came to be. I'd written a response and was lead to believe this would be reviewed prior to my hearing but it appears not. They also didn't seem to have my means tested information, but I may be wrong. They certainly didn't seem to know the information I'd sent prior to attending and I'm not sure I explained things clearly when I was there0 -

And you expected that to get you less than £60 and 3 points :huh:and I'm not sure I explained things clearly when I was there
It's not their fault, if you don't explain yourself properly.
Have to be honest, I don't see how you can recover this situation.
Seems like a fait accompli.
How long till your first 3 points are expired?0 -
Hi,
Quick back ground, was caught doing 42 in a 30. For reasons i won't go into I contested this in court. Having been originally offered £60 fine + 3 points or speed awareness course I've now been hit with £400 fine + 4 points + costs etc.
If you were offered a speed awareness course why didn't you take it if the issue is the points?0 -

got 3 points may 2011 so three years to go yet
Would an appeal not be a rehearing so chance to better explain myself?0 -
Looks like I messed up pleading guilty when I should have pleaded not guilty, think this was because my head was a mess when the paper work came through as i'd just lost my grandmother and my dog had also passed away. Any chance of getting this reopened?0

I've got the letter offering me a speedawareness course!0 -

No, because you pleaded guilty the first time so you can only appeal the penalty which for a good chance of success would need to be higher than the guidelines with no reason.

That's the bit that I didn't understand so I assume I had misread the opening post when I was trying to clarify details. I think they were hoping to avoid endorsement completely but went about it the wrong way.
