mobiles.co.uk / phone care insurance
Hi there,
I recently had my mobile phone stolen and was lucky enough to have it replaced (after paying the £50).
Unfortunately the unthinkable has happened and I have today dropped my mobile!
The front screen has cracked and a repair shop has quoted £200 - my question is - will my insurance repair the phone so soon after replacing the stolen handset (it's been about 3 weeks!)
Many thanks for any help

Did anyone have any experiences of this? I don't want to take the phone in if they say I can only make an x number of claims per year or between an x number of days as I'd rather wait - but I couldn't see this anywhere on the contract so I don't know if anyone has this type of insurance?0

They will definitely try doing their best for not paying. However, if the policy doesn't say anything about this, they have to pay and it is you who has to be prepared to quote the policy if they try to fob you out.
Some policies stipulate higher excesses for the next claims.0 -
Thanks so much - they sent a revised policy but the premium remained the same at £50 but there was nothing about a certain number of claims per year or x days between claims so I will see what they say!
Thanks again!0 -
What was the £50 for ?
Have you had to pay a new premium ?It's not just about the money0 -
I guess it was an excess, not a premium.0

I had to pay £50 when the phone was stolen to have it replaced and for each claim they charge £50 so I think it will be £50 to get it repaired I just wasn't sure if they would do it so soon after replacing the phone (just over 3 weeks ago) (it is the Samsung Galaxy SIII) but I am going to try0

I don't see any problem with it in that caseIt's not just about the money0 -
Thanks so much - do you think dropping the phone counts as accidental damage or could they be funny about that?0

Why don't you just call them - what have you got to lose?
At the end of the day, you've got a phone that is currently damaged. If they accept your claim, then you might end up with a new phone. If they deny your claim, you're in no worse a situation than you are now, and at that point you could save yourself a few quid and stop paying the premium.0 -

I remember reading where someone had left the phone on the roof of a car and drove off, it smashed of course. They didn't pay out because it was left on a vehicleIt's not just about the money0
