New boiler - old one is "kettling"

Hello, my boiler is about 13 years old and is making quite a bad "kettling" noise. I was wondering how back this is for the heating system and if I need to replace it.
I have heard that noise inhibitors are a waste of money and that I will need the system "Power Flushed".
If I do need to replace it, how much do you think it will cost? It is a normal gas boiler with a hot water tank in the loft and is powering a 4 bed semi.
Thank you all again very much.

No doubt someone will gaze into a crystal ball and give you a price on here..better yet, get someone in to take a look and give you a quote.0

Awww come on, surely this is an easy one. It's just an idea of the cost of a boiler plus installation. Nice easy to access location, nothing complicated. Are we talking £500 or £5000?0

Case in point....no idea about current set up or whether the boiler is beyond economical repair...details OP.0 -
Have you tried bleeding the rads (and checked the header tank if you have one)?0

With kettling it can help to increase the flow by turning the pump up a notch and also dropping the set temperature half a notch may help. And if the boiler output rating can be adjusted by dropping gas pressure, this can help too.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The OP needs to provide more detail....replace a boiler because it is kettling?. GSI. At the moment lots of stabs in the dark.0 -
Well it is an "ideal" brand boiler, probably about 14 years old. It kettles when it is heating up the hot water tank. I don't know if it does it when it heats the radiators, but I expect it does.
What would I need to check in the header tank? Somebody has written "Fernox added 2007" on it if that helps?
The boiler does look a bit old and crusty but I'm not sure if it actually need replacing. The ballcock in the header tank had a thin flim of sludge on it.
I'm not sure what else to say... Is there anything else that would help to know?0 -

Total cost from a local indepindant plumber was £2200 including powerflush, filters, condensate soak away & removal of old tanks and rework of pipes.
British gas quote for similar was just over £6000 not including condensate soak away.0
