Anyone got any experience of using wood pellets as a fuel for a range cooker with boiler? There are a few on the market and even a possible conversion kit (not sold in the UK yet).

We sell pellet boilers and stoves. We have yet to find a pellet cooker / range, either "wet" (water heating) or dry (just cooking), that is under £6000ish, which I think is too expensive- we sell wood fired Rayburn type range boilers / cookers at under £3000.
There is a (dry) Lohberger, which is Austrian, the Klover 80 (no oven), Klover 120 with oven (Italian), and a UK Aga type conversion, for which I am awaiting details.
Does anyone know of any others?
There are US pellet cookers which are outdoor barbecues, and not a heating system. There is also a Swedish burner unit for conversions, but the company does not reply to emails.....
The Lohberger seems to be a dual log and pellet unit, that may need both to get to higher temperatures.
Pellet fired systems are as flexible as gas or oil, though they are slightly slower to start from cold. Pellet burners have been on the market from the early 1990s, so the technology is proven. Most units are from Austria, Germany, Italy, and Scandanavia. There is areally good market for a pellet range cooker in the £3000-4500 range.
There is NO RHPP / RHI grant for range cookers, for reasons we find confusing. One issue was the heat release to the kitchen, and MCS could not specify an acceptable level, so there is no yardstick. The reasoning for excluding any range cooker is very arbitrary, IMHO.0 -
For all sorts of reasons I'm looking for something that heats water, is solid fuel and looks okay. One point I came across is that the Austrian and Scandanavian models are brilliant in their environment. Issues like dampness of wood stock, lack of super thermal house insulation as they have in those houses affects performance seriously for older UK housing stock. Check it out, a National Trust review - keywords pellet boiler range0

Hi Guys
Did anyone find out any more?
I have found Lohberger and Klover but don't like the modern design. I did find Eco cookers that look like Aga but sadly don't appear to do the cooker/boiler version.
Quite frankly I would be willing to spend more than 6,000 for a cooker/boiler combo. Let's face it Aga start at 7,000 for manual fed solid fuel or oil cooker/boilers.
After all you are getting two functions in one. The cooker only for an Esse are around £3,000 so expecting the integrated boiler version for under 6,000 is unrealistic. Especially if you get the convenience of automatic hopper fed pellets.
Even more importantly if you need an output of more than 11.7kw (Rayburn multi-fuel only just enough for x8 radiators). The Klover produces an output of 17.5kw. I simply don't like the modern design.
BTW period houses can be insulated. External Wall insulation if there are no preservation orders on the building or internal Dry wall (does require all the rooms to be re-decorated - although you can do one room at a time). We have just had EWI done and it has made a big difference.
Does anyone have information on the pellet conversion kits? nande2000?

We looked at the Klover pellet range cooker and the Esse wood burning range. After we added in the cost of the flue plus installation it became very expensive. It worked out far better to go for an Everhot, which runs off a single 13 amp socket, and our solar PV.
We also thought that the wood burners put out too much heat into the room.0
