I don't just think the OPs is way too high, mine is WAY too high!! Joys of people not turning the hot tap off tight enough, leaving lights on, leaving computers running (although I'm guilty of that one :rotfl:) I could probably go upstairs in a min and find tv, xbox, and the lad gone out, laptop all on, the hot tap running at a dribble etc etc etc. My teenager is a horrendous waste of energy!! So yes, the OP could probably cut back on things too, like I do (or try to). That's why I think the OP may also be able to cut back on bills like this. I'm actually hoping that me running around behind his 4rs3 will cut our bills down and we'll be under £100/month next year.

I got you back on the thread though ;)

I've just comeback form the one shop. They did a calculation of what we should be getting, not what we are getting.
It seems that I haven't claimed the right benefits.

All together we should be getting £343.45 a week from the social. It seems I have been messing with the wrong claims and getting myself into all sorts of problems.
On top of that they said I would pay no council tax and very little rent, a couple of quid a week.

I've got no intention of working neither does my wife, not when I can get that and hear what you have to live on.

It sometimes never pays to work thats what the lady said and she told us how to get round ESA and JSA.

If you have a one shop go in and see them they are full of good advice.

You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves.
Its no wonder the country is in the state it is if that's your attitude, the trouble is you put the same attitude on to your kds and then again to their kids ad infinitum.

What a couple of role models. Shame on you.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Right ok I was not asking for anything just basically venting my frustrations. I have no idea why our water bill is so high, I have no idea why I have to put so much into my gas and electric meters just that they run down and I have to top them up, I cannot work due to disability which I claim high rate both components and the mobility component goes on a mobtorbility car, my care component goes on my prescriptions, extra laundry and washing powder, new mattress protectors each month due to incontinence(double) and pads which for some reason the doctor won't supply.

The money advice lady said we would be much better off if my husband gave up work and went on benefits, something we are considering, and judging by some of the replies by working and asking for a bit of help you are labeled as scrounges looking to take tax payers money and by living on benefits you are labeled the same so what's the difference?

So, you don't get £305 per week? You get more? You do already receive some benefits? How much do actually get?
  • Is there a reason why you are no longer receiving ESA, or have you just neglected to mention it?

Oh Crap:eek: I got paid last Tuesday, the first ESA payment after migrating from IB and I got £65 more than usual, I havent said anything because I thought it was due to rises and change overs, the letter I recieved about the change over just told me that I would be getting what I normaly recieve on IB plus the general increase, Im due another payment next Tues so if its the same amount I wont be too worried as it could be right, if its a lower amount then it looks like I owe them money, I will give them a ring though to make sure.

Agree. If you can you should. Unfortunately it's the legitimate claimers who are penalised and not attitudes like this.
Very true. The real disabled jump through hoops while the bone idle get it all.

BTW What's the One shop? Is that a place that sells Matt Bakers and Alex Jones'?:j

Guys come on £30 a week for gas/electric for someone who is probably spending a lot of time in the home is not excessive.

I'm a SAHM my gas/electric for a 3 bed semi are £70 a month in total and I'm in credit so I'd say these seem high.

We have a one stop shop where I live, ours is a council run place that you can pay all your bills in 1 go, get advice on benefits, schools, get a blue badge, bus passes etc. Everything can be done in one place.
