The youngters as they leaving the nest and are hopping on the branches be fore they can fly are used for rook pie so if you managed to shoot the lot the parents would raise another brood.

Twink - if you're interested in the Crow legends, try 'The Wood Wife' by Terri Windling; it's a novel which brings to life the mythology. Beautifully written and moving.I am not stubborn. I am merely correct.0

That's why you get up to the nest and tie the legs of the young down, (apparently). Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall or someone showed how it was done on a TV program, not for the squeamish or vegetarians. :eek:The youngters as they leaving the nest and are hopping on the branches be fore they can fly are used for rook pie so if you managed to shoot the lot the parents would raise another brood.
DaveA house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

I do feel so very sorry for you.
About 2 years ago, crows would fly into our kitchen window at about 5am... 4, 5, 6 of them....... untill there was blood everywhere. Everyone looked so worried when they saw the blood all over the house wall. This went on for days, untill we got to the point, we couldnt put up with it any longer. They were waking the whole household, kids aswell.
In the end, desparate measures, we found someone who had a gun on a farm down the road, he shot one and we hung it by our window, they never came back after that....
I really do sympathise with you...... xxxx0 -
We have two cats.
Every spring blackbirds nest and raise young in our garden.
Every spring, as the blackbird chicks fledge, the parents spend all day cawing at the cats when they are in the garden.
The noise drives us potty sometimes but we could and would not do anything to harm the birds. They have as much right to life as we have.
You have to learn to live with it or move.
