Removing headboard

And which ever way you turn the bed, the headboard is very much in the way.. It's such a small room hahha0 -
When you say it's also the legs of the bed - do they connect to the side pieces too? That might be a problem if so.0

Yea it does.. What I've done now is remove the headboard and put big books under the side bits and the middle support for the slats. It seems quite secure but hasnt seen any action yet
you think it will be ok?
Basically the headboard is one big slab of wood that was bolted to the side bits and screwed to the metal support.
Edit: think it's the ikea malm bed0
