The fan only setting isn't going to be 2000W. That is when the heater function is turned on - which I assume at this time of year isn't the case.

As for the new 2200W vacuum cleaner. It's not going to affect the bills that much. At average prices, using it for an hour is going to be about 20-30p. Even if they spend an hour a week vacuuming, which is highly unlikely, they would be adding ~£1 to the bill.

What was the agreement made before you moved in about how the bills would be split?

It would be a nightmare to live monitoring every applicance & trying to allocate costs to the penny.

Did you agree to split the bills before you moved in? If so why don't you either honour it or find somewhere living alone rather than sharing where you will pay for exactly what you use.

In all seriousness though, I presume they're paying 2x (as a couple) what you are on bills - so things like them only heating, lighting, etc one room, could balance a lot out...
