So it's a new week and surprise, surprise the enquiries are still outstanding.

On Friday morning we were told that the conveyancing firm had received the responses from the vendor and would be emailing the answers across to our solicitor. They didn't!

We've chased a couple of times today and we're still having no luck. I've now told the estate agent that if it was up to me I would be pulling out but my Husband wants to hang in a bit longer (but he won't be able to appease me for much longer).

I just do not know what else to do to get things moving

I am feeling your pain here, only on the other side. I put a rocket up my solicitor last week because they were sitting on information that the buyers solicitor needed. We were supposed to exchange last week, but that didn't happen, and now I am paranoid that the buyers are going to pull out.

We had the same problem - our own solicitors were a bit of a case of procrastination merchants but the other side took it to a whole art form (and again, it was the solicitors, not the vendors). In the end I resorted to being a pain in the butt to ours - ringing them every couple of days, asking what paperwork had been requested and was being waited for, then ringing the EA and getting them to let the vendor to shove it along from his end as well.

Ring every day, stuff them if they think it is a nuisance you are paying there not insubstantial bill after all.

I would also be ringing the vendor to advise your solicitors are still awaiting info, between you you will find out who is the hold up.

We finally got all the responses this morning :j

We've said we want to exhcnage as soon as possible (deposit already sent across) and want to complete 7 working days after exchange.

Now let's see if this conveyancing firm know how to exchange contracts or whether my solicitor will need to hold their hand and walk them through it step by step
