    However, I have never, ever, seen a foreign car or lorry in the UK with any kind of beam deflector fitted.

    That's because continental headlamps dip with a flat beam, rather than the V shaped beam of UK headlamps. They don't need to be diverted or masked.

    No, they don't. International ECE Regulations clearly specify a beam with asymmetric cutoff. They dip to the right.

    They don't "need" to be diverted simply because British cops don't care. You can actually buy left-hand-drive beam converters.
