Careful on carpet, took the red straight out of my last carpet. With marker it depends, cheap ones are easier to remove than expensive ones usually (and will usually come off with water) I usually use hairspray for removing it if required. The brushing might have even done the most work in this case squeaky, most carpet cleaning firms use a brush on bad marks.
One day I might be more organised...........

When you say spray the stardrops, I'm assuming it's diluted?

Yep. My normal spray mix is about five parts water to one of stardrops.

As always with cleaning solutions, it's a good idea to test in an out of sight area or even an offcut if you have one. I should have said so in my original post - but I already knew that startdrops was safe on mine.

Toothbrush on well trodden in stains such as coffee or food will often help, yes. But on its own against an ink it didn't work.

Anyway - like I say, it worked in my own circumstance and may well work for others.

  • there are Erasable Markers water-based, i've tried Jolly Clear and my experience was positive. The Permanent Paint Marker leaves a very visible mark on the grain side of finished leathers and then easily rubs off with pressure from your finger.
leathermarker.com Jolly Clear meets nontoxicity requirements.
