Iphone 4 Out of Contract

My iphone 4 contract with Orange will finish in September. I am not sure i want to continue with contracts at the moment. I am considering the new Iphone when it is released.
My current one is £36 a month 600 mins unlimited text and 750mb data, i use Wi-fi when i am home. If they want more money for a similar deal for the new iphone, i would consider keeping my iphone 4 and go rolling contract. Or if i go for the new iphone i MAY keep my iphone 4 (i'm not certain on this) and go pay as you go for this one - i just dont know how the data thing eats into pay as you go??
I do have quite a lot of games and other apps that i definitely want to use. There are some fitness apps i use when i am cycling so this i imagine takes up some data.
What are my options? I have been with orange for 15 years, i know this makes no difference with Iphone being so rigid. Does orange have rolling contract, how do they work, i dont really know what they are to be honest?
I'm not sure whether to keep my iphone on pay as you go - (how does an iphone with my use, faire with this) and get a contract for the latest samsung.
I am just really looking at the options for the iphone?
I pay by weekly standing order, i beleive orange are the only one to allow this, whether its to do with the fact i have been with them for so long i dont know. For the moment i'd rather NOT do Direct Debits.
Help

You can get data bundles on pay as you go, Orange's Dolphin tariff gives you 500Mb for a £15 top up. Giffgaff (who use 02's network) pay as you go is better, they give you 800 minutes and unlimited texts and internet for a £20 top up.slenderkitten wrote: »My current one is £36 a month 600 mins unlimited text and 750mb data, i use Wi-fi when i am home. A rolling contract is a contract that can be cancelled at any time with 30 days notice. Orange do do these, but you would have to spend £26 a month to get the same amount of minutes and less data. Tesco Mobile (they use 02's network) will do 500 minutes, 5000 texts and 1Gb internet plus unlimited BT Openzone Wifi for £15 or the same tariff with 750 minutes for £20. Virgin Mobile (who use the Orange/T-Mobile network) give you 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB internet for £12 a month. All these are one month rolling contracts and you can keep your number if you want. What are my options? Find out how many minutes and data you've used over the last 12 months or so, you might need less minutes which means you will be able to get cheaper deal.
It depends on how much you want/need a new phone, I would personallly stick with the iPhone on a sim only deal or giffgaff pay as you go deal until it breaks.I'm not sure whether to keep my iphone on pay as you go - (how does an iphone with my use, faire with this) and get a contract for the latest samsung.
You don't have to pay by direct debit, all the networks will accept payment over the phone or via their website although they are likely to charge you extra for not paying by direct debit. Not sure about weekly standing order, you'd have to contact the network for that.I pay by weekly standing order, i beleive orange are the only one to allow this, whether its to do with the fact i have been with them for so long i dont know. oh yeah i am aware you can pay over the phone all of them do that, but to pay on a weekly basis as i do most of them do not allow it, as they want everyone on direct debit. I dont like how it takes them anything up to 10 days to take it from your account. causing possible problems if you dont have enough in the account. I dont like this kind of set up.My Signature is MY OWN!!0

They usually tell you which date they are going to take the payment, I've never heard of it taking up to 10 days to take a payment, although I do agree with you not liking direct debits.
You would need to get it unlocked by Orange, I think it's free if you're out of contract with them though.0 -

Yes. The fee is £20 and it is a full factory unlock via iTunes.0 -
If you want the new iphone, buy it on Apple's website and take the finance option plus the extended warranty, and go on PAYG. That way you're covered for any breakdowns, can move freely from company to company & shop around for cheap insurance.0
