applied for a card for travelling with joint users on the same account (wife and I) and got £1,000 limit !!! I/ we could reasonable be expected to reach the limit in a couple of weekends shopping between us.
A1 credit rating so phoned allied irish bank who stated that they would increase my limit as 'time went on' as they 'monitor my repayment capacity'. with every card i have owned I have always paid my dues before the date to aviod interest so are they thinking I wont make them any money and hoping I/ we will exceed the limit giving them interest?
not today AIB,cancelled my card!0 -

What a drama...
If you are so adept at paying down early, it should have been no problem to pay down earlier on your account balance. That way I could spend more than my credit limit. After a while, I asked the company to raise my limit.
As they could see I was managing the card within the limits but needing to intervene to keep within the limits, they raised the limit without question.
Over time it went from £500 to over £20000.
What was the point of cancelling the card?
I did that many times when I got my first CC.0
