Not sure that's entirely accurate. Vehicle rental firms I've dealt with say they do not routinely pass information relating to minor damage to the claims and underwriting exchange. How would it look when their notification logs showed they had charged several customers for a single instance of damage? Most of them are about as transparent as mud.

Also, last time I looked, Enterprise only offered an excess reduction but not a complete waiver. They will offer to reduce your excess to £100 for an extra fee but they won't reduce it to £0. For that you'd need to insure the excess with a third-party insurer.

Im not saying you must, But its something that most people wouldnt think about until their insurance say they failed to notify them of this incident.

So would they record this incident on the database? I think thats the big question.
