Afternoon all
Have missed a chunk of the Olympics, but so glad I managed to see last night - what hard working stars they all are! Got a bit choked by the end - so many golds! :j
New WM delivered today (and within the 8-12 timeslot I'd paid for!), all plumbed in by the men (free!), left no mess, just going to try it out. :j Also 4-man tent we got (down from £190 to £99) is up in the garden, can't get littlies out of it! Thinking of trying camping - DH going to sleep out with the kids a few times to see how they cope, before we go off one weekend. Came complete with groundsheet, 2 double airbeds and 4 sleeping bags.
How do you some of get together on FBK? Are you friends in RL? Intrigued...!
Having beefburgers for tea, YS M&S ones, plus some YS fancy steak ones, total spend £4.35 for 6 good quality burgers. Already had bread (defrosted YS teacakes), bits of salad and onions, relish, etc. Ice cream or cornetto-type things that need using up! :rotfl:
Savoy cabbage - carve out some of the inside from underneath but ensure it can still stand up. Fry the carved-out cabbage (shredded), onions, mushrooms, peppers, whatever you like, mix with cooked rice, pulses, fave spices, salt and pepper, bit of grated cheese and stuff it al into the cabbage. Either wrap in foil and do in the oven in baking tray or steam. Mum did this or variations when we were kids, we loved this but hated normal boiled cabbage!

This is delicious and I'm sure you could adapt it by,say, ignoring the bacon and chorizo but adding veggie sausages. I always put carrots in as well. If you haven't got all the ingredients in, try it another day, the sauce is yummy.
I'd second adding it to a stir fry. It should last the best part of a week so you won't need to use it all at once. If you make bubble & squeak 'cakes' you could freeze them.0 -

Wow thanks for all the cabbage recipes, not sure which to try first!! :A
I've really not felt to well today. Ended up ringing NHSDirect and they think I may have a small concussion from banging my head on Friday. Been advised to go to Drs tomorrow if I still feel bad, but not sure what Dr can do? Spent most of the day resting/napping on sofa, but did pop out for a half hour walk around the lake inbetween the showers.
Olympics today have been fabMurray did so well! Although looks like they are losing the doubles now
.
Going to have HM curry from the freezer for tea shortly.

morning all,
Had a quiet day yesterday, but today will be busy.
Will be checking the car over then packing it up ready for our week in Wales. Looking forward to the break, though not the 4 to 5 hour drive from one side of the country to the other.
Have a lovely holidsy. Know what you mean about the long drive as i'm visiting my son in Devon which is a 4 & 1/2hr journey from here too. x:coffee: Jules xxx
