then need to nip to the library and pop in TK M@X for some tongues for the kitchen,

What ???? I have no tongues in my kitchen, am I missing something :D

    Morning all,

Terrific rain all night but stopped now, OH has gone to see if the boot sale is on, ever the optimist.

I have our bedding in the wm, which will be hung out after.

We stripped the lounge yesterday, carpet, coving and skirting board have gone, leaving dreadful 70's tiles, (photos on FB) and discovered that the previous owner has done his usual and not mis-coated the plaster, which causes the paint to flake, so the whole lot has to come off, which is a painstaking job, basically scrapping the layers of paint off, OH and I did several hours yesterday, and have only done 1/3 of one wall :(

Still the good news is that we bought the flooring, some beautiful solid oak, and we got it a 1/3 of the price, good old Ebay :T

So today will be more scrapping, I have some pork chops out for dinner, which I will shove in with some jacket spuds, nice and easy.

Sistercas, glad you are back safe, and had a great holiday xxxx

    Have good days all xx

    Morning everyone :)

Loved, loved the Olympics last night......and our little debate Tru :rotfl:
I wasn't that interested in them originally but having watched some whilst we were away (gymnastics I love and the diving) I confess I've got a wee bit hooked. Felt rather emotional last night, I am in awe of anyone who can run 10,000m and then sprint the last lap

Not much OS :o Got to empty caravan etc and put it all away. Need a magic wand :rotfl:

Tea will probably be roast chicken.

Have a great day all, hugs and spoons all round.

    Morning all:j:j

    Sunny and warm here

Everyone was up late here this morning. Nobody woke up untill just after 8:00am.

    All fed and watered now,
The Girls are off to church this morning. Then off to my wife's moms and dads for dinner. they wont be back until about 7:30 tonight. We picked up a bargain yesterday at the butchers in town. They were doing half leg's of lamb for £7.00. So thats our roast dinner today:j:j We ' normally buy leg of lamb due to the cost, But as they were cheaper than normal were decided to treat our self's.

Young hen is still giving an egg a day, Nothing from the other two young hens yet.

Team GB did the whole county proud again yesterday.:j:j

Well I hope that you all have a great day,

    Enjoy:j:j

Good luck to Team GB for today::T:T
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j

Morning, not a bad day here, with bits of sun popping out now and again.DH hasnt been up long as he was rather worse for wear last night and had a bad head this morning :rotfl:
I've got some steak out for tea but only 2 in the pack so I'll have a salmon steak instead,&DS1 away for the weekend.DGD is coming this afternoon so I'm defrosting a pot of baby food I made last week for her tea.We like to take her on the little park at the end of the road to go on the baby swings, but some 'delightful' young teenagers have squirted loads of ready mix paint all over the slide and the ground.Last week they set fire to the rubbery soft landing stuff .It was only revamped last year, its such a shame, and its putting people with little'uns off going:mad: There arent any children living on our road, and its not normally a bad area,so the locals are all a bit annoyed.
Right, off to wash DH work stuff, might even get it outside.Nearly dried one lot of towels yesterday before it rained:j
Have a nice Sunday everyone, and hope you are all well xx

we are having similar problems , the previous owner was a bodge it man and at the moment we are decorating dd1s room and are finding all sorts of problems that are having to be rectified before we can carry on, its just so time consuming

iron mountain climbed :j i have 4 loads of washing on the line that DD1 says she will help me to iron later .

DH is sat watching tele and hasnt moved all morning , he still hasnt unpacked from the holiday yet and the other suitcases are waiting to go in the loft , it makes it look so untidy and messy , i wish he would get off his @rse and do something

Can I just post a public THANK YOU to short_bird:A. We met up on Tuesday and she has saved me a huge amount of time and stress about finding somewhere in Birmingham. Taking DH to view the short list over the next couple of days. Fingers crossed.

Anyone know of any nice veggie recipes (or meat ones I can adapt) that feature savoy cabbage? I bought a huge one in the Aldi Super 6 today! I can only think of bubble n squeak!

Just done my 40 mins walk. Really hoping for a good loss this week to keep me on track:j
FB off the top of my head its great in stir fry. Or stuffed peppers, just chop the top off and cut up any veg onions, celery toms, cabbage and stuff the pepper, sprinkle cheese over the top and bake in the ovenYum. Also it's nice in bubble and squeek with left over potato and fried. I love cabbage, can you tell:D
Off to bring in the bedding and get another lot out before the rain.

FB - Stir fried with some sun-dried toms and basil makes a lovely dish.

    Afternoon All

Weather not too good today so washing on airers. Been shopping to L!dl and even managed to treat myself to some gladioli.

DD informed me on Friday that i said it would be ok for 2 lads from South Africa to stay for a week. I probably did say yes but I can't remember anything about it! They were gap students when she was at school and they have kept in touch. Still, the beds are made up and they can fend for themselves when I'm not in. I think they will be out for most of the days so shouldn't be too bad.

Hoovered round and given the kitchen a once over, just sat watching the tennis now. Work at 6 and hopefully it wont be as busy as last night.

    Take care. XX
