OS Daily Sunday 5th August

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 5th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be awarethat many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly butif not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two dailythreads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you haveto though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Overcast here today, but I got the washing done & dry yesterday, hubby had yesterday off & today, it was lovely to have him here for so long as he's been working most weekends lately.
Today's job is to clean the fishtank filters but that is about it, nothing much else planned.
Salad for lunch & dinner as we have so much growing in the garden.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning Hester and All Who Follow x
Im another up early as had to run eldest son to work for 7 am and DD got up early for 5.30 am start at her job.
I was very restrained at Costc0 yesterday and only bought the essentials. Not sure what is planned for today as i guess it will depend on how i feel. Anyway will post back later if i have managed to achieve anything remotely OS.
Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Good Morning Hester, Molly and all to follow.
Just having a cup of tea and a surf before I start my mahoosive to do list.
Being out of the house virtually all week has left it in a sorry stateand I can't bear it anymore. Also my ironing pile is scary again!
So copious amounts of stardrops and vinegar will be used today, aim to get all the housework done this morning then iron in front of the tv this afternoon.
Just about to get a chicken out of the freezer and will roast that on top of carrots, onions and potatoes for a nice and easy dinner.
Hopefully the rest of the family will do something useful or a least stay out of my way :rotfl:
Better get going then, (((hugs))) wherever needed & have a great day all.x0 -

Unfortunately I didnt get round to making any as I was making HM soup and scalded my hand quite badly. Its not too bad today but have several large blisters covering the back of my hand.
When I finally got round to trying the soup it was lovely. but not worth the pain lol.
Well lots to do today but gonna take it easy. going to potter about a bit. cant really wash the dishes as there is no way im putting my hand in hot water. will have to wait. think I will tidy, vacuum and dust the living room. have a quick tidy of my bedroom and put some washing away.
Have a good day everyone

Muckymoo - ouch! hope hand is ok
Sun is actually shining here! Not sure if it's to stay all day or not. If it is I'll find some washing to do :rotfl:.
I'm shattered, went to the Olympic football last night. Sadly the match was quite boring. Atmosphere was good, but the crowd did get bored at times. It went to extra time and penalties, and we lost 4-5 on penalties. Ah well. I had a nice time with my friend and her BF, but we didn't get home til gone midnight. I was a bit annoyed though as they did not announce any of the 3 gold medals won during the time the match was on , despite them talking about Jessice Ennis in the build up and half time. I do have to praise Cardiff council/stadium workers though, they were brilliant! Smiling, helpful, efficient. We did get to see the Gold postbox too, for Geriant Thomas' gold in the cycling. If Dai Greene wins in the 400m hurdles on Monday then we get one in my hometown
.
I plan a totally lazy day todayNothing OS needs doing :j and I'm exhausted. I'm going to watch the Olympics, read magazines/books, and potter around. I do have tickets to go watch tonights Olympics on the big cinema screen but TBH I'm not bothered if I don't go, tickets were free and I'll pass them on to someone else.
Have a fab day all

Morning all!!
Hope you are all well,
Quiet weekend for me, got pup this week so we've been hanging out, stayed in both Friday and Saturday!! Did go for lunch with a friend yesterday and met a band that I'm going to go see next week, (I think my friends are trying to set me up with the singer!)
Need to do a little bit of housework today, just vacuuming, wash some clothes and kitchen and bathroom. Then who knows!! pup is walked and I've got a stack of books i'd like to start reading, so relaxing day all round i think!!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Morning :hello:
I've cleaned out the chickens and found more mites. Just as well our shed is plastic, I dread to think how bad it'd be if it was a wooden one.
I've given myself a couple of months to just be me. The kids are grown up (but they sometimes need a short, sharp reminder) and the stress is over. I haven't been this relaxed for ages. We're going on holiday on 6th october, I'll do a re-evaluation when we get back
So there's not much to report really, I'm getting things done by just pottering about. All jobs and shopping trips are relaxed and it all feels easy to do.
Mr tru is taking someone I don't like to visit someone I really don't like, so I have the afternoon to myself. I've got the Fight Club DVD ready. I was going to watch it last night but I got caught up in a debate on FB (I started it!) about the olympics. Non-fans (not many) V fans (lots of them). I lost :rotfl: Was a great laugh though
ETA - managed to get my wedding ring off without breaking it YAY!Bulletproof0 -
Morning All,
Feeling much better this morning (self inflicted I know):o
The Olympics were absolutley fab yesterday, makes me so proud to be British.
Bedding off and in the wash, just DS's to do next. Going to have a decent breakfast to take us right through to tea time.
DSS will visit this morning for an hour with his children and then need to nip to the library and pop in TK M@X for some tongues for the kitchen, mine are sprung open and won't close if you know what I mean:eek: and causing havoc every time we use them.
Muckmoo I burnt the top of my leg with a red hot cup of tea a few wks ago, incredibly painful for weeks, hope ur ok.
Tea will be salad and chicken and hoping to watch the olympics this afternoon.
Have a great day J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning Guys!
Had a better night, so feel a little more with it today:D No nurses today:j:j:j
WM & DW have been emptied, chicken prepped for lunch and all veggies done too. Breakfast was porridge with added Marvel for protein and calories. Toilets bleached and house generally clean and tidy.
DD gave me present she got me which is the Skrillex CD Bangarang which is my favourite tune of 2012. It must go back to my raving days back in the early 90's, but the beat is amazing.....just wish I could still funk away with my moves:rotfl:
DD has a gypsy wedding to attend next week on her BF's side. Told her to practice her Beyonce moves and get a hot pink tight short outfit:eek::eek::eek: She's told her BF to not leave her as she doesn't want to be grabbed:D
Snake is still shedding and doing well. She's had water baths the last 2 days as she was dehydrated and we're keeping her humidity and temp high. Will attempt to feed her middle of next week. Have been reading up and apparently they are attracted to the smell of brain matter:eek::eek::eek::eek:....if it means her eating, then it'll have to be done.
Anyway, hope you all have a good day.
