I officially join the ranks of the unemployed at the end of this month and the company want their laptop back, perhaps I'll have to stick a wanted on my local.
This one is two years old anyway so about time I had a new one :rotfl:
Shoot
sorry to hear that bones- hope you rejoin the ranks of the employed soon.
You could post a wanted on freecycle :
Wanted - Job for a hard working, decent bloke with a good sense of humour
Joking apart that could even work - someone looking for staff reads it - likes your innovative approach, creativity and sense of humour
real left field but heck what have you got to loose - you're using a pseudonym anyway ..... too weird an idea ?Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -

On our local Freecycle we have 'wishlist Wednesday' on the last Wednesday (obviously) of the month. Many have asked for laptops, camping gear, wii's,
x boxes etc. The wish that took the biscuit this time was someone asking for a Mini Cooper!!!!0 -
My 'friends' somehow managed to set fire to my barbecue and so I am
now looking for another - Gas or charcoal, i have the calor gas but
not the BBQ! any help would be appreciated, can collect evenings or

Lets hope his next one is fireproof.0 -
I really don't think its right that people are copying and pasting messages from their local freecycle groups- especially as thay are sometimes including names etc.....I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
RIP POOCH 5/09/94 - 17/09/070 -

10,000 members, and you run it single handed? I live in a city, and there aren't even 4,000 members in mine
Ever thought of appointing moderators to help? With all your domestic commitments, I'm suprised you have time for Freecycle, let along joining this forum. But maybe thats why your one and only post to this forum was to this thread
Pam
Yes, I did have a co-moderator, when the group was a lot smaller. But he just upped and left one day, without warning. Never found out what happened to him. I haven't appointed any more because Freecycle in my area is going through big changes. We are in the process of dividing the city group up into smaller groups to cover council areas. At the moment I am just tiding the group over until the last two groups are set up and then my 10,000+ group will be closed and all members will be dispersed to their local groups. This is why we are making efforts on the group to get people to join and post to their local groups first, because sooner or later (sooner I hope!) they will have to.
dobbiesloan, I only have two freecycle groups, the main older one for the area, and my borough group where I live which is a lot smaller. Once the larger one is broken up I will only have my own borough group left. Freecycle only normally allows one group per owner, but remember, fellow moderators do help each other out and sometime moderate each others groups if someone is stuck or away.0 -

I really don't think there's any harm intended tankgirl. It's just a bit of a laugh. To be honest, people ARE being cheeky and they ARE requesting things that FC was never really intended for so all we are doing is having a giggle at the audacity of them. It's not like anyone is being malicious/sexist/racist/profane etc and there aren't really any identifying details. If someone was able to identify their post from something written here it would
A) have to be a huge coincidence given the size of both MSE and FC andmaybe make the person think about whether their request was reasonable to be asking for or not...
It's all a bit of fun!
