Little request:
"These asks may be too much to ask, but I thought it would be worth a
try.
1. I am trying to broaden the path in my back garden for my little
girl to push her pram and what not on, so need some slabs.
2. I am also trying to build a fence to keep her in the garden, so
would need some big thick wooden posts, just something to fix wood
to.
3. My daughter would also like something she can play on outside,
like a slide or climbing frame.
I might be able to get someone to collect, otherwise I will be on
public transport, so if anyone can offer dropping things off it
would be a great help."
I'm surprised she hasn't also asked for somebody to build the path and fence for her as well! :rolleyes:0 -
I am using freecycle to clear some of my clutter as I need to move somewhere smaller and I don't want to keep stuff that is just in boxes etc...
(If I could I would love to live in a minimalist decor with all the clutter in storage somewhere so I could still keep it but not live with it.)
I have tried antique shops, collectable shops, second hand shops, house clearers, charity shops and jumble sales and they are all so picky about what they will take.
I have got fed up with ending up fetching items back home because they can't take new stock until next week or there are health and safety issues with certain items - toys, electrical equipment and jewellery, etc...
I don't have a car or a garage so I can't personally sell items and I have tried adverts in newsagents and local papers and had no response.
I would be happy to give things to someone who could make use of them even if they sell them on - as long as they turn up as arranged and collect with a thank you! I do like the idea though and it is better than dumping things in a skip.
There are people on freecycle who are cheeky - It is annoying when you wait in for 4 hours and they don't show, or they email you to ask if you have a spare remote control, batteries or battery recharger they can have with the item. I have also been asked to deliver to them.
I have also sold a couple of books on Amazon who are quite good.A bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist :j0 -
I did once deliver an item - the recipients lived very close to me and I figured why not I can pretty much pass 'em on the way to my father's or shoppingHate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing

No he has.........................
Flask (from freecycle of course) filled with tea, from a well used tea bag, milk and a cup of sugar "borrowed" from a neighbour and a fish finger piece, made from the fish he caught using his bit of tree (twig's big brother) and a ball of string (again from free cycle) and a worm from Bessie from the churches garden (got the tea bag from her too by the way from the pot after Sunday lunch was scrounged sorry I mean eaten.
The bread for the piece baked fresh from yesterdays collected bread maker (Freecycle again not Morphy Richards bargain as you need to pay for this and it's against the spirit when there are so many going a beggin') and ingredients from mum's cupboard. (deleted comment from here but feel free to insert your own).
Odd sox to keep his feet warm - always plenty of them going a begging in my house for some reason, maybe this is why!
I'm going now - feel free to continue the list, and I'm loving reading this thread as I thought it was only my freecycle which was full of erm strange demands.0 -

Hi all.
Would any fellow freecyclers possibly have an old laptop they no longer
use.
I am trying to get one so i can download pictures and possibly video to
take to show my aunt who unfortunately has had to go into care, and the
care home is 25 miles away from the family.
As she suffers with her eyes and has dememtia i thought a laptop would
be a much better way for her to see the pictures, and she so loves to
see the family but being so far away not everyone can make it as often
as they would like.
It does not have to be anything flashy, just something i can get the
pictures on.
Oh Lordy Lord.Fight for clean hospitals, C-DIFF takes lives
