Someone on ours asked for a 28 inch TV as his had broken, and he got one which he said was in great condition! Perhaps I should ask for one because ours is only 21 inches!

I offered a 21 inch widescreen tv on our freecycle about 6 weeks ago, it wouldn't turn on, but rather than take it to the dump, I thought mayb some1 could fix it. Had 7 emails 3 of which just said YES and the other 4 were just yes please. In the end I offered the tv to the woman who thought her husband may be able to fix it, and I posted that it was TAKEN STC. Within minutes there where 4 new wants asking for widescreen tv's lol. As for the guy who collected my vcr... he was scary! Was supposed to call after 7pm (when my partner would be there with me) but he turned up at 4pm, looking like he was high on something and stinking of booze and demanded the vcr there and then. After that I refuse to let people in the house, and leave the item at the gate for them to collect.

I gave up on Freecycle some time ago but was inspired by this thread to go and have another look. I found a new local group had formed and it seems much better than the original county-wide one.

One question though: I responded for the first time to something offered a few days ago and I haven't heard back yet, is it usual for offerers to wait a while to receive all responses or do you generally hear back promptly?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm new at this asking for things business!
