When I first started out, I was grateful for ANYTHING!GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

note they want 2 computer desks - so, no bed, table, chairs but have 2 computers.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
when OH and I started out we were donated a right assortment of stuff - but it did us until we could afford to replace it ourselves - but then we didn't have a tv for six months, let alone the computers, games consoles, etc.:p

We do appear to be back at this culture thing dont we of I wan't it now.
Similarly when I 1st moved into this flat I made do with cheapest of cheap (IKEA tat and similar) - indeed still have the futon in my lounge that I bought 7 years ago.
My clothes , for 1st 12-18 months, hung on a clothes rail on wheels type affair (£12.50 from IKEA - see what I mean about IKEA tat)Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -
Wehn I first started out I would have been delighted with Ikea 'tat' lol
I had all kinds of weird n wonderful stuff from my then OH's grandad who had just gone into a home, including a brown n orange carpet that only fit the middle of the room (so we positioned the *spew* brown dralon sofa that my aunty donated around it and the rest of the room was bare floor! We had a tv bought ina second hand shop for 30 quid that was as ugly as sin but it served its purpose. We also had one of those hideous room divider units from the 70s in a sort of teak effect. :eek:GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

With so many people supposingly ebaying and carbooting items, isn't it better to ask questions?OK not an essay, I haven't seen that particular post so I can't comment.

Hi all,
anyone got any ideas on a reply to give to someone on freecycle. I posted a wanted add for baby things as I am due in 10 weeks. I got what I thot was reply from a lovely person asking me if I wanted a buggy, when I replied saying that would be lovely thank you. She said "actually it's not free, it's 30 quid as I need the money to buy a double buggy". She made me feel bad, I know I shouldn't but I just do....I haven't replied. I don't know what to say.0 -

I would not bother wasting time or effort contacting them direct, they may be nice and genuine but they might be miserable conning sh**s.
There have been quite a few 'baby bits' offered so hopefully you will get something from more genuine people, good luck.0 -
