  • okay so what is the best method to go about paying for a motorbike, as a buyer?

is it best to go with cash - which then means no possible refund really if it breaks down 5 minutes later (for example)

paypal offers no protection but you would maybe be able to get your money back through the credit card if something goes wrong?

please help on this its a decent some of money thank you

Cash. Lots of it. If you don't feel comfortable carrying loads of it around with you, then ask if you can go to a bank and pay it into their account there and then. That is what happened when my sister and her husband sold their campervan for several thousand pounds.

If the item is not as described, you won't have protection through eBay, but there are other options. If it broke down 5 months in your seller wouldn't be liable anyway, assuming they are a private seller and not a dealership. It's only if it is not as described right now that you are vulnerable; however, you still have the option of a credit card chargeback or a small claim through the courts.

Buying a bvehicle privately is cheaper for a reason. You have to know what you are doing, or know a man/woman who does.
