does anyone know why a uk citizen cannot book through a usa travel agent. they are considerably cheaper for holidays in the usa. any sites that have .com and .co.uk addresses the prices can be up to 30% cheaper. I have been given excuses as need a usa address or a usa credit card both can be obtained from the uk. Is there any reason or law stopping an internet booking from the uk with a usa agent

I doubt if there is any law preventing it, but if a USA-based business does not want to deal with customers from outside the USA then they are perfectly entitled to do that. If you're able to fool them into thinking you are a US resident then go ahead.0

Usually told that U.K. citizens or residents can not use U.S. travel agents for booking cruises, but we have always used them and have never been a problemThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

No problem. I used Expedia.com for a flight last year because it was more convenient for me to pay in dollars (using a card linked to a dollar account). As it happens there was no price difference between their US and UK sites for that purchase.0

I used a USA travel agent a couple of years ago as they were a lot cheaper than I could get here. I had no problems at all.0

I used a US&Canadian travel agent last year when booking a holiday to the Bahamas for a wedding. The bride&groom live in Canadian so used the company to get a group discount.
They had no issues will dealing with various British people booking with them (Bride is British).* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

I booked a cruise with a US travel agent last week. No problems0

A few years ago I used a USA travel agent who booked a three-centre holiday for us, including internal flights. She was a delight to deal with and actually came personally to meet us at our hotel in San Francisco.0

No 'law' but your ticket will be non standard, and we got picked up at Las Vegas McCarran on DEPARTURE, having already flown in to NYC and were on our way to Florida.
All tickets have numerical coding explaining how and where they were purchased, and anything non-standard can be picked up. I had used a UK CC with a US travel agency, and they picked this up (eventually) and it took an hour to convince Homeland Security it was done only as a cost saving measure.
Some online TA's will block international cards for this very reason, so bear this in mind, because if they're being vigilant - you'll need time to explain why.0 -

VacationsToGo. They have a 0800 number for UK callers, but I did it all via email0
