Open the door, put your arm into the drum and pull it out that way.

    HI,

My machine is an indesit. I'm unable to pull the machine out as I have health problems and it's fitted into a very tight gap. The only way to get it out is to do as you say and put hand in drum. I think I'll clean the filter which is at the bottom of the front of the machine.

I did try again 2 nights ago to wash some stuff. I used a different wash cycle (40 degree & 40 minute time frame) and it worked. The one it had stopped on was a 60 degree wash and it was the second load I'd done. I don't know if that may have been the problem. I definately didn't overload the machine though

    Hi,
I recently posted a thread to say that my machine an Indesit WIL133 was stopping in mid cycle. The on-off light was flashing along with another. The instructions said to switch it off at the wall. I couldn't as the plug is behind the machine. However, I switched it off at the machine front and waited and then had to put in on rinse to finish it.

Since then I only put the machine on a different setting - a 40 degree 50 minute wash and it was ok.

However, today I put it on the wash that caused problems - a 60 degree 'time 4 you' load that takes about an hour and the same thing happened again. I couldn't switch it off this time as nothing happened when I pressed the off button on the machine so I had to switch it off at the fuse box. I then put it on rinse to finish it.

What could be the problem. It's only when I put it on a 60 degree wash - could that be the trigger? Is it worth getting someone out? Or should I just keep using the 40 degree wash for as long as that works and then see about getting a new one.

It's about 5 year old, no longer under warranty. It hasn't been used as much as other people with family would have done as I live on my own.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem only when they use the 60 degree 'time 4 you' setting? As I said above, the other settings have gone through ok - although I haven't used the machine since the other day when I used the 60 degree wash

my money is on a blocked filter, I'm guessing that when you pull it out there will be hair and fluff and toothpicks and scale and gunge and all sorts.
Clean it out of solids and run it through a tap till the holes are visible again and you'll be right.
There is a brand, cant remember which, that the filter is not end user servicable, might be hoover, but I know that candy certainly are as I just done mine and my hotpoint is also do-able.

Thanks, I'm assuming this is the thing at the bottom right hand of the machine. I took the cover off once but I don't recall being able to remove anything in order to clean it. I shall have another look and see what's there and if I can remove anything that is part of the machine

    Hi,
I took the cover off last night and it was clean. I've put a load on today on a 40 degree wash and it completed the cycle (like it did the last time, as it only seems to happen on the 60 degree wash).

However, the glass didn't feel very hot, so now I'm wondering whether it's actually reaching the correct temperature on a 40 degree. I can't recall if it feels any different from a 40 degree wash from ages ago!

It felt very hot on the 60 degree load before it stopped. So now I'm wondering if the thermostat is jiggered. Is that a costly job to mend?
