Free mobile phone insurance (home and away) for a few month from Barclays Home
Bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 recently, and wanted to get insurance because of the value of the phone. The cheapest seems to be about £60 for two years.
My home insurance was not including personal possession insurance, at home or away.
I called Barclays Home insurance this morning, and they said they would include £2,000 of home and away personal possession insurance for free for the next 3 months, until my yearly policy is due for renewal then (and then the cost will show on the renewal letter).
Insurance covers damaging and losing a device (smartphone, digital camera etc) or laptop when at home or away (including sat nav device if stored in boot or glove compartment).
Seems like a very good deal, since getting individual insurance for my various gadgets and laptops would cost a lot. I don't know how much it will add to the policy when it is due for renewal, but I can always get competitive quotes then.
