I've done some sorting out this morning, made a belated wedding present for a friend which I need to post, made a photo collage, and found US$40 which is about £25!! Will keep that to cash in when I'm desperate for money!

WM just finished as the heavens opened :rotfl: I will put it on the airer instead.

Well, hung out the washing in bright sunshine, and now the heavens have opened, it isn't worth going the few yards to get the washing in, I would be far too wet.

Still, at least the popcorn I'm eating is home made.

Need to get the washing machine on and the airer put up. Even if I didn't mind putting the tumble dryer on, quite a few of the things in the washing basket can't be tumble dried.

wuvvie - hope you arm feels better soon.

    hugs to all.

    Hi all

    Hope you are all well

Went out for dinner last night. its usually free as my mom and dad would normally pay for me but I paid £20  towards the final bill (my meal and drinks only cost <£10 I was bieng really careful about money and the cost of my meal but the SIL's parents weren't and split the final bill rather than us paying for what we had :()

Been to see my dad this morning and he showed me how to fit windscreen wipers on my car as one had broken which was lucky because of the rain on the way back. Had a really nice chat aswell which we dont usually get to do as my mum usually interupts. my dad and I are scientists and very into health and safety so she doesnt usually get what were talking about.

Going to drop off the rest of the SIL's prezzies in a min and then have a general tidy.
No idea about dinner may just be pasta. I now really want HM popcorn...may put a film on tonight and pop some. anyone know the best way to do it in a saucepan as i dont have a machine and ive never done it before

    Have a good day everyone

Hi all, belated wishes to elacla-glad you enjoyed your birthday
    welcome Syman.
Been blitzing the house as friends are coming over later.Cleaned the black gloss kitchen doors with stardrops and e cloths, one to wash and one to buff, and the oven doors which are  to clean, gets it done better than anything else I've tried.

L!dl shop this morning, they had none of the half price steak left and it was only 11 o clock,so a bit miffed, but on the good side we met an old friend of DH late mum,and blocked the aisles chatting for ages(its ok it wasnt too busy)

We wanted to go into Manchester on the train this aft for sthg to eat at teatime, but when we rang the friends up she had just got into her gardening gear and as the weather has been bad all week wanted to get cracking,so the curry is a compromise :)
DH did our grass too, desperately needed doing but its just not been dry enough.

I have really enjoyed watching our athletes in action, theyre doing brilliantly :j
Have a good weekend all x

Afternoon all, had some horrendous rain and a storm here earlier, just dull now. had a fantastic day yesterday at my DD's friends wedding. DD met her when she moved in next door 19 years ago. DD was bridesmaid and looked gorgeous as did the bride. Not done much today except shopping, feel shattered. Must tidy house tomorrow and get ready for holiday , we go on Thursday. Hugs to all in need esp PP, Molly and Lou. Welcome to Syman and glad you enjoyed your birthday Eclacla. Have a good evening all.:)

muckymoo do you have popping corn? Pour a few mm of oil into your biggest pan and add 3 kernels, when you hear them pop add the rest, shake and put back on the heat. Shake it often until it's popping loads, then take it off the heat and wait until the popping stops. I know it sounds over complicated but it stops it burning. I love fresh popcorn.

Hi all. I've just realised that my impromptu trip home means I haven't done all the last minute back to work preps. Now instead of five days to do it I just have monday to buy an iron and er iron, sort my maps and handbag out, make a few days of lunches, clean the bathroom and kitchen, do a food shop and do loads of batch cooking :eek::eek::eek:

    Hi.

I'm here, but not for long as we are off to a golden wedding do. Would rather be slobbed out on the sofa eating cherries and watching Olympics, but needs must.

Cooked all afternoon - strawberry flans, gypsy tarts, choc chip cookies, brownies and lemon drizzle cake. mostly for the drop-in but lemon drizzle for us.

Must just go and wrap up prezzie for tonight. Elegant glass vase filled with gold foil wrapped sweets.

Welcome Syman. Are you sure you can cope with us? Enjoy your trip.

    See you soon.

been baking for most of the afternoon as well.made extra wholewheat pastry and used half for the quiche and the other half has been wrapped in clingfilm and put into the freezer for another day Youngest DD just texted and asked if I can bring around an apple crumble tomorrow so I have just got a box of stewed apple from the freezer out and will do the topping tomorrow morning.Sorted out the freezer so I know whats in there, more than enough to get few a few mealsover the next two weeks.
Eldest DD came home from Devon and was going to pop down this afternoon then her OH on his way to the gym with DGS Danny had a car accident so she has spent the last couple of hours sorting that out Son-in-law and DGS all ok but car not at all well.Woman in front of him suddenly jammed her brakes on because her dog had leapt over from the back seat to her lap and son-in-law went into the back of her She has admitted its her fault but as they both have the same insurance company I'm not sure what will happen But people are all ok which is the most important thing.
DD is coming tomorrow morning to see me bearing gifts apparently :)
Right just off to do some ironing I want to try to keep it down as much as possible
    have a good evening folks
