Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 4th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you goto bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Welcolm to the newbies.
Hugs to PP & Molly & anyone else in need.
It's a long time since I started the daily thread, not because I'm not getting up early, but because I'm having to hit the ground running every morning.
Hubby allegedly has the day off today & tomorrow, I'll believe it if he's still here by 8:30, he's half expecting a phone call to go in.
1st load of washing on the line, WM & DW both on.
I managed to get the bulk of the ironing done yesterday, there are just a few bits left that I will do next week.
My car is in for a service on Monday so I need to give the inside a quick tidy & pick up the magazines & reciepts littering it up.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

  • Morning Guys!

Nurses went 10 minutes ago, so got a lay in this morning:D Thanks for all the lovely comments and PM's yesterday.

It seems lovely outside, although the rain kept me up most the night with my joints:(

WM is on and DW will be on after breakfast. House is clean and tidy. The back garden is getting mowed today.

Quiet day I think. OH is just making my first fresh coffee (his 2nd) of the morning and may have some bacon and egg for breakfast or porridge, not sure yet.

DD is doing well with the Python. She came quite dehydrated, so they've been trying to hydrate her with luke warm baths and keeping humidity levels high and she is now shedding.

Haven't got anything out for dinner, so might be HM chips, burgers and beans?

Anyway, hope you all have a good day.

    PP

First time i have posted on this thread, have read many though.

Just chilling out catching up on the olympic news with a cuppa, then popping into work to feed the chickens and collect some fresh eggs for lunch.
Will be packing this afternoon ready for a week in West Wales, so also keeping an eye on the weather. Here's hoping.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p

    Morning all,

Not long been up :D I love saturdays. DD still in bed, but will get her up in a while as she is working at 9.30, they have a fun day today and dd is on the face painting which she has never done before :rotfl:, will need some quick training I think :D

Poured with rain here most of the night, stopped now though, hopefully it will brighten up, I have 3 loads of washing to do.

I think I will do a steak sandwich for dinner, will have to make a french stick, although they never turn out like one, as I dont have a tin and they go all fat.

Going to look at the flooring today, then home to empty the lounge and rip off the skirting and coving and take the carpet up, will put photos of the delightful flooring on FB :D

    Have good days all xx

    Good Morning All

Havn't posted all week - its been mad and hardly been in the house.

Sunny weather here at the moment and think we are off to London, it was OH's birthday in the week and he really wants to go to Chinatown. The traffic in London hasn't been too bad all week so off we go.

Tomorrow will need to attack the house and the ironing, its really dismal .

Haven't been able to keep up with the thread that well so hope everyone is ok, (((hugs))) wherever needed.x

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Woke with a start this morning, I had been awake and must have drifted off again, next thing DD was going downstairs just after 8. Shot out of bed to get her lunch ready (yes, she can do it herself but I am not working days at the moment). Just coming round now!

Welcome Syman and the other newbies.

First night back at work last night, it was a struggle to go but once I was there it was fine and good to see everyone. It will be busy tonight as there is a wedding on.

Washing up to date and just a small ironing pile to do. DD has invited 2 Aussie lads to stay for a week from Sunday so better make the beds up for them.

Off for a shower now, take care. XX

    Morning all

Syman - give me a wave on your way to W Wales! Whereabouts are you going?

Had a lie in til 8am, which is good for me! My head is a lot less sore today and bump is going down.

Today I'm off to the Olympic football again in Cardiff :j This time it's men and it's Team GB :D. KO not til 7.30pm. Meeting my friend at 3pm and she is driving us up. And then when we get back (probably about 11.30pm) I have to go to a wedding party! I am doubled booked today. Feel a bit bad about missing the wedding party for the football, but the couple got married a month ago in Mexico and both have said they don't mind if I'm not there!

I think I'll go for a wander round the shops this morning/afternoon. I had £50 cashback from Quidco yday :D and it's burning a hole in my pocket!

OS wise - need to put WM on but not sure on the weather! dishes to wash, recycling to sort

    Have a good day all
