Just remembered another thing. Anyone recall me mentioning that I got trouted in Wilkinsons the other day?
As a gesture of goodwill the manager has saved the toy and has stated that he will be happy to give the item to you free of charge on your next visit to store.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us and wishing you all the very best.

Assuring you of the best attention at all times.

I shall be putting the £1.50 I expected to pay into a charity box to assuage my guilt :)
Brilliant - i do remember you posting about it. How funny when you go into store

I have had a freezer in my shed for 15 years and no problem if you live somewhere where it does get extra cold you could cover it over with some old carpet or something, but have never had a problem and my last shed was falling apart.
  • Happy certainly did make the thread rock!

On that note, one or two things to do before Mrs Brown comes along, then have to strap my sides together so they don't split! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I used to have a freezer in an outside shed but on more than one occasion, during a very cold winter, the freezer defrosted and all the contents defrosted! I was told that if the temperature outside the freezer got to colder than the inside of the freezer then something happens and stops it freezing. Not sure if I've really explained that well??

Has anyone else heard of this happening?

If I thought I could have a freezer in a shed and it wouldn't defrost itself again then I'd try and talk my OH into getting an additional freezer.

I have a freezer, fridge freezer washing machine tumble drier in shed, it was -18 here winter before last and mine was ok, the only problem i had was my washing machine freezing!

  • Evening everyone. I got touted today, the SA put my shopping through. I handed her my vouchers and she gave a right sigh with a look to match. I thought ok here goes. She said have you bought 2 of each of these, I said yes. It's all there on the receipt. The first voucher which was the mcvities one, has to have the price of the item entered manually. So another sigh, then she called the supervisor over. She said how do I do these, he said just scan them. She said but it's asking for the price, he said you only have to enter the price for the vouchers that offer free items. She said I'm going to be here all day doing this. The supervisor just ignored what she said. Then she started to scan the other vouchers (didn't try hard enough) then called him over a second time stating they wouldn't scan. And that it's going to take forever to do these. He took them from her and scanned them through with no problem whatsoever. While she stood there saying where have these come from and why is she allowed to have all these, how do you know there not copies? Ect ect. I was fuming! I felt like saying to her, what do you mean it's going to take ages? Ain't this your job your getting paid to be there? But I just stood there. Then she kept my receipt from my PP. I didn't want to draw attention to myself, as she did enough of that for the both of us. So lost out on my points. I'm still really angry that the supervisor just allowed her to speak to a customer in such a manner. Sorry for ranting on. I got loads to catch up on now. Hope everyone else has had a much better day than me.

certain fridge/freezers will do that, they need to be a certain type to be able to be used in a garage or shed... I bought a new one the otherday and it said suitable for outside use in garage... i'll see if I can find what it was now

P.S I did indeed buy a new one as I felt left out with my tiny, pizza free, freezer lol.... it was about time :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Our fridge freezer is in the utility. We have the same problem. If temperature outside drops below -8c then the freezer starts defrosting. As is the same problem in higher temperatures. If outside reaches 26c (or there abouts) the freezer defrosts. I believe there are some freezers on the market which can cope with the hotter/colder temperatures nowadays, but mine is about 15 years old and can't.

I always have to run the freezer right down between Nov - February and May - September. So I can never take advantage of any frozen glitches.
    The end is nigh

Why didn't you say something to the supervisor? I am polite but I would have said to the supervisor, is there any chance you could move to to another till where the cashier doesn't act like they are doing me a favour, please, whilst smiling :)
