Personally, I swear by the 3G version - if there is no WIFI handy it will use the 3G network AND the big bonus for me is that you can use it to access the internet and check your emails etc for free when on holiday. I know lots of hotels now do have WIFI but you frequently have to pay a fee - with 3G access it doesn't cost a bean. Wouldn't be without it when I'm on holiday in Sri Lanka.Yes, but surfing via phones/laptops etc usually costs you money, especially if you are abroad. A 3G Kindle is free to use for internet access.
I presumed the 3G bit would cost moneyI usually zone out when he starts talking about techy stuff as it means nothing to me. I should pay more attention!
So really I'm looking at the £169 Touch then? He goes away on business quite a bit so the 3G one could mean no excuse not to keep in touch outside of texts! No one can make you feel inferior without your consent ~ Eleanor Roosevelt0 -

I'm back after my nap and just had dinner. Chilli con carne (made yesterday so always better the day after) on jacket potato, cheese, sour cream and salad. yum.
Then warm baked peaches with vanilla carte d'or ice cream. I'm becoming obsessed with baked peaches/nectarines. got them on a whoopsie shop, 5p a punnet and keep buying them ever since. Cut in half/stone them and sprinkle a bit of brown sugar on top. Oven for 20 mins...Tiger

I have just shown myself right up
cleaning out the bathroom, I was stood in the bath cleaning the windowsill I could hear the neighbours out the back having a BBQ, I saw we had 11 bottles of Radox bubble bath and shouted to O/H, I'm not getting anymore Radox, we hardly ever bath anyway
I realised what I'd said but it was too late for me add, because we prefer to shower
Oh dear :rotfl:
Just an aside, I use RBB to wash in the sink as I don't bathe (I also shower). If you get an empty bottle and half-and-half it with water, fill your sink and THEN add the radox, it won't bubble and you'll just be left with the lovely scented coloured (green in my case, I love the original one) to wash in, hth.

He's all into his gadgets and I'm worried I'll buy the wrong one because it doesn't have some feature or other on it but I don't want ripped off either just so he can keep up with his colleagues. It's like being back in school and making sure you have the latest toys and wear the right clothing label! Or maybe that was just me
If he wants to use it for the internet, don't get the standard kindle, it's dreadful for the internet, it's all button clicking and takes forever (no 'mouse' or anything like with a laptop) so I would definitely get the kindle touch.
Alternatively see if you can get your hands on a cheap-ish ipad depending on your budget as this will replace a laptop and a kindle in one swoop, the only difference is the price and that you can't read in direct sunlight but you CAN read in the dark which is what I didn't like about my kindle, hth.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023
