very nice did you build the wall as well?

Yep, I did everything myself, took longer than I wanted due to this hernia or whatever it is.
My usual job is building stone walls or re-pointing but due to the weather and illness i've only worked around 8 months in the last 4 years.

Afternoon guys :j I am smiling today - today is a good day so far :D

I took Molly to the vets and he took her stitches out and, despite me being worried about her charging around all week and there being a knotted lump under the outer stitches, he said she is fine and that will settle :j :j :j :j :j

Postman finally brought my letter from Mr 3Dogs' pension which confirms that I will receive the money due as a lump sum for the two policies :j :j which means I can now look for my new car :j :j :j :j :j I've got to admit I was worried in case I had to take the fund as an annuity/pension, which would have been ok, but would not enabled me to get a new car and I really feel that, if I could afford it, a new car was what I needed, for peace of mind more than anything. A reliable car that I could maintain cheaply is what I need, so very happy with that :j :j :j :j

The other thing is that Alan thought he was going to get this money paid to him under special rules for terminal illness and it put his mind at rest that I could get a new car and would have a little money in the bank behind me, after he was gone. Something we have never really had during our time together. However, due to the doctor taking his time signing the medical form and Alan going so quickly in the end, that was not to be and I had to apply for death benefits from his pension instead. He will be pleased that I will be getting the lump sum :D:D

    So lots of :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j from me today, and a nod to Alan up there watching ;)

Fantastic pic of the moon Nahteb :T :T

Fantastic day for you FK and love those [STRIKE]legs[/STRIKE] new shoes

Back to my old routine now - taking my disabled neighbour shopping in her car :D

I've caught up till the Jigsaw Queen Westie said good morning so will be back later to do the rest

Aww I hope it stays that way for you 3dogs. :A

Well we finally got a call from son number one. They coached them to a hotel at 3 in the morning an hour from the airport and they have rooms, meals and soft drinks. Son is very miserable and tired and fed up so I said to him to go into the market and get some swim shorts and have a nice swim in the hotel pool - I dont think he had realised that there was one.
Honestly I think I would be estatic if I was stranded and got put up in a 5 star Hilton hotel with indoor and outdoor pools - when we got stranded in oxford we ended up in the travelodge.

So at 5 they get collected by coach to be taken back to the airport to catch a flight tonight - must have put an extra flight on for them. He wants us to collect him from man airport, could be about 10 or 11 our time.

So a full 24 hours to get home.

Also I got a response from Monach facebook page but only what we knew already

Well, you might remember the delay son numbe rone had going home last time and he finally boarded his plane 3 hours late.

Well its worse this time. He was getting a 10.30 flight last night and we had a few calls 1stly to make sure we would still be OK to pick him up from Manchester airport which would be about 2 this morning - probally nearer 3, all good (normally he catches the train but the trains dont run until about 6  )

Then there was a delay, problems with the plane.

Then they were all herded back off the plane and back itno Arrivals.

Then a couple of hours later we got a text and they had all been sent to a hotel for the night :(

No news yet this morning. I tried to leave a message on plane companies twitter and facebook but I dont think thye are manned over the weekend. I also checked the webiste and no point in emailing them. Also had a look and the next scheduled flight will be same time tonight although I dont wether everyone who was flying last night will be able to get on that flight.

So fingers crossed as to what happens this morning.

There was a flight going into Birmingham that went off last night on time, I've often said to him why he did not fly into Brum, easier to get trains home in the middle of the night

we're off on Monday for a self-catering break. Nearest T's looks to be Catterick? Could any locals let me know whether it has a scanner please?

Any hints on cheapish things to do in the area with 2 elderly parents (one wheelchair bound) and dog would also be appreciated :)

Ripon is a very nice cathedral town not too far away, (see visitripon.org) and I have seen what looks to be a nice park just on the edge of the town when I have been there. A little further in the same direction is Harrogate, which is a pretty town, and the Valley Gardens in the centre of town are really lovely on a nice day - you could take a picnic, and there are plenty of benches to sit on. Hope you have a lovely break and the weather is kind! :)
    Hope is not a strategy.

    Excellent patio COT :T:T:T

Interesting comment that. I remember hearing somewhere that there is something in the Activia yoghurts that means you NEED them after a while to keep you digestive system working as it should!!:eek:

Got a nice chatty student-type for my pizza and frebreze shop. Was intending to get a few more lenor, but found out I only had one voucher left!! Still, one is better than nothing! He sat there quite happily putting through all the coupons, only one he queried was the Lenor one because it wa sonly £1, but I showed him it and he popped it through. £23.95 down to 95p including £2 off £20 and various other vouchers, did buy some bananas and grapefruits too though, else it would have been negative balance panic time!

The couple behind me stood there dumbfounded as I handed over a solitary pound coin and got change :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have been to 2 diff Tesco's and the lenor voucher is coming up on the till as I haven't bought the item. Is no one else having this problem? This is the little bottles with a white cap which cost £1 and using the lenor coupon from the car mag saying any lenor
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Bought the next day at same store and got brand match. Me thinks the printer was out of paper first day.Somebody on here said that they hover around to make sure the till is printing bms before they go thru.

Is there a limit on the amount refunded by Fairy platinum. Was thinking along the following lines. Buy a large one at sains as part of brand match -- get brand match but then send receipt off for refund.
