There is a bloody fantastic chippy I think on the main drag into Paignton. I know people who will drive down there purely for the chips!! They cook the chips in a very light batter

The steam train is worth a go too. Can't help with beaches as I can't remember but I am sure someone will know that and the name of the chippy.

ooooooooh thankyou :) I could just eat a portion now after reading this! :D

first one to name it gets a box of coco pops!! :D :rotfl:

shall note about the steam train as well :) I now have a shopping list next to me and a P@ighton list  :)

There is a limit on how much you can have a year though. It's quite a lot but don't go buying too many wide screen tv's. :rotfl:

Can I please ask anyone that lives in P@ight0n Devon for some local knowledge please :)

we are going there and would like some advice/recommendations of places to go please.

Kids aged 6/9/15 yrs

the best beaches which are dog free please, nothing against dogs just little one very worried around them.
But loves to swim :)and play on beach (oh thats me :o;) lol ) as they all do.

best shops ;)

and any places of interest/fun

oooooh and is there a great chippie! :)

Me me me!!! I live about 3 miles away!!

Lovely beaches at Goodrington next to a big waterpark if you've got older kids. Paignton sands with a lovely free kids play area next to it if you've little ones.
Paignton Zoo is fantastic. (next to Morries)
Woodland Leisure Park is a great family day out....google it and you'll see why.
Steam railway to Dartmouth then a trip up the river to Totnes (near me!!)
Model Village and Kents Cavern prehistoric caves both at Torquay
Trips across the bay to Brixham
Most beaches are dog free so no probs

Couple of really good chippies in Preston, (between Paignton and torquay) :):)

You'll have a fab time :T
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.
