I agree that £20 was a bit much to ask for...but a light up keyboard is much more learning friendly than a monkey that lights up, the key board would encourage the child to interact with the toy much more, with there being two very similar models out it seems that for some the difference does matter.

Photos and text from other eBay users
Photos and text copied from websites
    Scans from catalogs or advertisements

Hell, I'm engaging in copyvio just pointing this out to you.

I suppose instead of c&p 60cm tall, blue with a red seat you'd have me put it in my own words, and say : it's between 59 and 61cm tall the colour is what you'd mix yellow with to get green and the thing the baby rests it's bottom in is what you'd mix white with to get pink.

A list of features aren't copyright they are fact and common sense would tell you that, some people are just too opinionated to be helpful and seem to enjoy attempting to put others in their place with an air of superiority.

Well if you really can't copy pictures or texts off other websites and they cracked down in it, half of ebay would disappear up it's own backside.

Glad you managed to resolve the issue, OP. Sorry it was a bit of a costly mistake; one you'll learn from no doubt. :)

If you were a buyer and bought something that was not as described how would you feel ? Would you be happy to just accept it.
I somehow doubt it so thats how you have to look at this.
Take it on the chin and move on.
  • get the item back, relist it using your own pictures of the item assembled (you won't be lying if you clearly state that it was only assembled to photograph...) Might even be worth adding a youtube video of the item so people can see it's complete and any light-up/musical features are working as they should - borrow a baby if you have too!

If you offer collection, you could have it assembled ready to show off it's features when the buyer comes to collect it...

    .

Like buying a brand new iphone for £600 and finding out its a £100 chinese copy. It looks the same, You can phone people and play games on it.
Has more features than an iphone also.
Not quite the same though and you would be miffed.

Not a great analogy. The item isn't a fake, nor is it worth a fraction of the price.
The buyer clearly took advantage - but that's business for you.

lol I think you made a mistake and got taken advantage of by someone who knew EXACTLY what they were doing!

I'd put money on them knowing it was a monkey rather than a piano when they bid, so were just getting it for cheaper.

I would have stuck to my guns and offered a refund upon return, and just sold it as never used.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

You could sell it again on ebay, and get the original buyer to post it to the new buyer, instead of them sending it back to you

I wouldn't risk they would send it out.

Personally I would have given a full refund on return of the item in it's unused re-sellable state. No return, no refund.

If she went to ebay/paypal with SNAD they would tell her to return it anyway for a refund.

Sorry you've had the hassle though - I agree that the buyer knew exactly what to do.
