Viewers Moving Things

Why do they do this?

Suppose Im more curious rather than anything

Things like- tea towels which were hung over the cooker were moved, the curtains were moved and rearranged weirdly, the cushions on the sofa had been moved??

I don't get it?!

Why would you feel the need to close the curtains then rearrange them again at a viewing?

Tea towels: Is the cooker being included?
Curtains: Looking for mildew round the windows?
    Sofa: Maybe someone sat down.
    IANAL etc.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Maybe they bought their children with them who moved the things and the parents 'tidied'. Having said that I often move the curtains as looking at windows and frames can be a good indication of how well the property is cared for (even if it is upvc).

I often need to sit down when looking at a property due to my illness.

So it may not be as odd as it at first seems.
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

My sibling had some expensive and sentimental items at her house - and viewers with kids would let their kids touch/pick up stuff. There was a small Shaun the Sheep, pristine ... and some sticky oik mounted it and was playing with it, it wasn't a toy!

    What was it, then?
  • Maybe this?

I want to know why you'd leave "expensive and sentimental items" out and on display, as well as within reach of children... when you've essentially invited strangers to have a wander around your home (potentially unoccupied).

If you leave tea towels over oven handles for a viewings, you need a lesson in decluttering. If the cooker, oven, whatever, is included in the sale, viewers will be inclined to inspect inside it, hence the tea towel has to move.

Let's presume the curtains were moved to allow inspection of windows and frames.

I do this all the time when I'm viewing. I hate houses that look so perfect!:D
