    CM, you may want to look at CentralFund of Canada (CEF), traded on the Toronto and NYSE exchanges.

    It is a fund directly holding both Gold and Silver (near a 50/50 split). One of its big advantages is that it can be held in an ISA (due to its structure). It has a sister fund, small in size, which is only invested in Gold (can't find it now).

    I have some monies invested in this (as a safeguard) - just need to watch the premium to NAV when buying.

    Edit: meant to say I trade mine through SelfTrade.
